imo Nintendo did indeed have some great stuff... but it didn't interest me personally, now stuff to do with Fable 3 was also rather interesting... but I didn't think Microsoft's event was that brilliant, so I'd hafta go with Sony

Alright, I'm over my rage of there already being a new DS. Is Kid Icarus going to be on that or Wii? My friend says the 3DS.

I totally vote Nintendo. I'm not that interested in much of what Sony has but Portal, which I can get on the other systems I own. Meanwhile Nintendo is bribing the inner fantasy fanboy with Legend of Zelda, Dragon Quest, Golden Sun, and Kid Icarus. Their remaking of Goldeneye is a little "meh" in my opinion.
I honestly didn't watch Microsoft and from what I'm hearing I don't regret it. Ubisoft was cool, loved the Rez 2 demonstration, great use of the Kinetic or whatever (though it was interrupted by the retarded G4 cameramen). EA was terrible because it's EA and nobody cares.

Yea. That does look very cool. I want in but I'm not willing to pay a monthly fee for it.
I hope they run it like the D&D mmo. I don't mind an initial purchase but I hope they can keep it in the black with microtransactions rather than bills. I'm not willing to pay per month but I would surely buy a scrap iron jaw and attack squig for my slugga boy.

I'm also really looking forward to Fallout Vegas

The 3ds does look cool though.

I was really hoping Microsoft would have something special this year but they were a disappointment. Nintendo completely stole the show this year, they got my vote.
you and me both dude Msoft really dropped the ball. But as I said in my OP my vote goes to sony for among other things bringing back the twisted metal and announcing Infamous 2.

Nintendo. They announced about 20 new games as well as the new 3DS. Microsoft and Sony's biggest news was the motion control Nintendo has had for years.
You fail to recognise the fact that the Wii's motion control is by far the worst out of all of them and generally unresponsive, even with the 'motion plus' that they sold afterwards costing you 30 pounds for something that could have come with it in the first place, the fact is the Wii remote is bulky with the attachment of the motion plus, dangerous to those around you if you don't wear the irritating little strap and about as useful to the games you play on it as a ash tray is on a motorbike.
If the Wii controls are unresponsive for you, it's a probably with the way you set it up. I have never (really, never) experienced this in the four years I've owned mine. I have to wonder if you've even played a game with the Motion Plus attachment. Like I said, it's gotta be a problem with your setup. At the worst, you were sold a faulty controller.
Trust me I have had the misfortune of forking out cash for those motion plus things, besides its not like they couldn't come with it in the first place, and I checked my set-up with your input and there is no difference top or bottom of TV setting.

The Wii is for the casual gamer that doesn't mind waiting months for Nintendo to release another Mario/Sonic/Zelda remake which has been going on since the SNES with the occasional bit on the side from Capcom, but they haven't made a good game since the first street fighter, and I know I'll get stick for saying that but I don't care, Marvel .v. Capcom is still bad no matter which character is in it. If you want a brawl game I suggest you get the only game that Nintendo don't wear out, Super smash bro's brawl. But if i'm perfectly honest... I'd rather have my game cube back.

I really don't care about the 3DS... so for me nintendo was just Donkey Kong and Kirby, not that amazing. Natal impressed me, GOW and COD were good, but I actually think Sony had the best exclusives this year

Nintendo wins because it was able to make both other companies bend over and take it full by admitting that standard controllers are for losers and that Wiimotes are the way of the future. I fear for all of us gamers. I really do.

Ugh, I can't be bothered to respond to all of the anti-Nintendo fanboys, especially when all their arguments are the same. It gets tiring. Still, I'll respond to one who actually had an intelligent response (even if it was the same old argument in disguise) and another whose hackneyed, blatantly Yahtzee-stolen post particularly pissed me off.

Enjoy.

Apparently we have different definitions of the word "new". Nintendo's idea of new seems to be either churning out sequels to existing franchises or resurrecting old franchises.

Still, if that's what the fans want.
Name one developer who does not churn out sequels.

Congratulations. That is such a clever argument! Nobody's ever blamed Nintendo for rehashing old games before! How observant! So much thought must have gone into that comment!

Seriously man, Nintendo just does what every developer does. Every single developer just makes sequel after sequel. Microsoft's big titles were a new Halo and a new Gears. Sony was all about LBP2 and Killzone 3. No company (except the indie ones) are actually making new games.
You may be semi-surprised but I do agree with you in part. There is no denying that sequels make the gaming world go around at the moment and my two favorite games this year so far are Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption (although less of a direct sequel). So, hey, sequels are not bad and are sometimes warranted (unless you're Bioshock 2, but that's another topic entirely).

I'm more baffled by their resurrection of long dead franchises, it just seems lazy and a "cheap-pop" to Nintendoids who'd slap their money down for anything the big N produce. BUT I have been snooping around lots of other topics and people genuinely seem to want another Kirby or Donkey Kong Country. So either my tastes are out of step with the majority or I am the lone voice crying in the wilderness saying "do we really need this?"
I'm willing to accept either eventuality.

Nintendo won because it catered to casual gamers and suprisingly made tons of money causing other companies to develop motion controllers in the hopes of attracting the casual gamer base that Nintendo had created as well as appeasing thier hardcore fans, though it seems to be the first more than the latter. We as gamers can only gain by this move.
fixed your quote for you.

I'm gonna have to give it to Nintendo.

They are rolling out the games, the 3DS, and I'm loving it. I will admit that Nintendo's past few appearences at e3 have been quite lackluster, but they listened to the fans and really brought their A-game with all the titles they announced. In particular, Goldeneye, Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong Country, and Zelda caught my eye.

The 3DS is just the latest in Nintendo's line of innovations, and I am very excited for it. The DS and the Wii both pushed the boundaries of gaming as we know it, and the prospect of 3D without glasses is just great. This is not just a step for videogames, but for media as well. Imagine, in a few years, we might not need glasses to watch 3D movies!

Sony and Microsoft are coming to the motion control party 4 years late. Sony in particular has underwhelmed me. The Move is so much of a knock-off of the Wiimote that it's disgusting. I will at least tip my hat to Microsoft for their innovation with the Kinect. Personally, I don't think it's going to topple the Wii's deathgrip on the casual market, but kudos to them for trying something new and different as well as a darn impressive piece of hardware.

Sony and Microsoft each brought their own personal flair to the table, but nothing that (IMHO) was as impressive as Nintendo's offerings. I would not go as far as to say that either lost at e3, but I believe that Nintendo did win it this year.

Even though they didn't announce a new Star Fox title like I had hoped, they DID announce just about everything else.

Nintendo indefinitely won this year. After years of crappy press conferences, they finally got an awesome one. Nintendo truly wowed me. Everything just looked so amazing. I really think there's no doubt with that one. None of the others come close.

And considering a Star Fox title wasn't even announced, that's surprising even to me.
I believe a Starfox title was announced for the 3DS though I don't think we know yet whether its a sequel or a remake.
I apologize if someone else already told you, but it's a remake of Star Fox 64. While I will definitely be getting it and it's SOMETHING, I still wish a brand new Star Fox had been announced for the Wii.

So fucking quoted for truth.

Well, that or Bioware's The Old Republic.

But all fun aside, Nintendo did win. While I do not agree with the path Nintendo has been going with the last couple of years, it's making them bank. I just wish that with those brilliant programmers, talented artists, and solid thinkers that they could make a game where Mario, etc weren't poking their ass(es) into it.

Seriously! I think Papa Miyamoto needs to write down his dreams for a good month. Then we would have a NEW beloved character and franchise. It's obvious that Nintendo trounces the other two in creativity, I just wish they would meet their potential.

So in all. Son, I am disappoint. (With all three)
