Poll: Why does everyone think the Combine of the Half-Life universe are retarted!?

You know when Breen self-destructs the tower? That's to open a portal big enough to allow the combine proper to reach earth. In the game, you're really just fighting the police.

Because the AI is bad and the like to channel themselves into convenient little bullet lanes for me. And don't forget the fact that they like to use explosive barrels like watercoolers... That you can't drink from.
Besides, those helmets look pretty fimsy if you ask me, certainly wouldn't absorb the shock from a crowbar.

i wont go into debate but if you must know i find it offensive that people compare "bad" things with nazis it just show how illiterate on the subject they are, Nazis were not evil for gods sake, and they deffinetly didn´t deserve to die.
Evil is a very subjective term, but as far as Nazi's are concerned, they were very misguided, and it caused them to commit abominable acts; which in layman's terms would be considered evil. The point I'm trying (and quite possibly failing) to make, is that the Combine don't have to be well equipped with uber-armour and instagib 1 mile rifles firing very angry robotic earwigs that eat your brains, they just have to be good enough to kill you once and they have fulfilled their narrative duty.
(i hope some of the above makes sense, if not feel free to ignore it and think of me as a crazy individual on a rant)
EDIT: and it's so tempting to wade in on the Nazi argument having written a 6000 word essay for my degree on their social and economic sucesses in the first three years of Nazism but I fear it's a touch off topic and might end up with my awesome post being lost to posterity for ever.
