Demoman by far...the noobiest class in the world and if you dont get kills with 'nade spam then you aren't even trying.

Demoman over powered? Are you nuts? Close range he's screwed, long range he's screwed. He has the middle ground maybe, but even then he has to rely on traps, which can backfire when a spy gets him.fix-the-spade said:DEMOMAN!
Mainly because he has little in the way of an obvious counter. Even nerfed he doesn't really fit into the rock paper scissors mechanic of a fight.
He would be better with one of the grenade launchers gone and more ammo for the other, as it is there isn't really a situation where a Demoman is inappropriate, which can make him a massive thorn in a team's side.
But really he isn't bad compared to some class based shooters.
Having said that, most demomen are pretty vulnerable to snipers, it seems to be a blindspot in demomen's playing style...
What's the difference between a demo firing off grenades fast and a soldier firing rockets fast? Or a heavy firing his chaingun, maybe I'm missing something here and you don't know how to get around that.pearcinator said:Demoman by far...the noobiest class in the world and if you dont get kills with 'nade spam then you aren't even trying.
I know what you mean. Not to brag or anything, but I was playing the scout and dominating 4 people on the other teamOutright Villainy said:The scout is actually borderline overpowered in the right hands, and it's one of the few classes (besides sniper and spy) almost completely dependant on your own skill. The scatter deals an insane amount of damage and has a healthy forgiving clip size, and even the fan has it's uses for separating single targets from a group. well, it's mainly for the triple jump/force jump. It's not as hateful as it once was at any rate. It doesn't stop him being hard to play however, it takes hundreds of hours to really shine with him, but after that he's unstoppable.
Plus he's a more dependable medic killer than a spy, and in a one on one fight is the top dog over everyone.
His real weakness is the terrain. In cramped conditions where you're forced to fight down narrow hallways, the spam and sheer volume of gunfire will make flanking impossible, and tear his skinny ass to shreds. A co-ordinated scout attack is a lot harder than a heavy-medic combo too.
How to win as scout- flank. He really is the best at it. (sorry pyros and spies.)
Anywho, the heavy is probably the weakest class, because he's way too slow to get to the action or retreat, takes too long to spin up/down to deal with with an advance without a good degree of luck. His shotgun makes him a lot easier to use effectively though, but he also needs the sandvich because he WILL take a lot of damage regardless. the trade off is too great, because you really need them both.![]()

Every class has its use.
Just cuz newbs always take it doesn't mean it's a bad class...Sven und EIN HUND said:For argument's sake I chose the pyro because it probably takes the least skill.... W + mouse 1 spam and you're set.
Close range he's one of the best, use the grenade launcher and aim for direct hits, except for the heavy, pyro and soldier it's almost guaranteed to be a one hit kill. Soldier and Pyro take two, Heavy takes three so you need the drop on him but he's about as deadly as it gets in point blank range, the bottle has a high crit percentage too so it's effective in emergencies.Snotnarok said:Demoman over powered? Here you use blind fire and a bit of luck. Demo's the only character who doesn't need line of sight for his weapons to kill, so you stand behind something and use either launcher to drop explosives where you expect the enemy to be. It takes a lot of practice but there are players that can effectively pin you in spawn on maps like Badwater with zero chance of retribution.Snotnarok said:long range he's screwed.
The bow only kills careless players, you can see it coming and it's pretty low damage outside of a headshot. Against a no scoping rifle it's practically useless, if it's getting people on your team a lot they need to rethink their strategy. As for the Kukri, team it with pisscrits and it's usually a one hit kill, but you get that close to a sniper without killing him you deserve to get clobbered.Snotnarok said:Overpowered would be sniper, he can instakill at long range, his kurkiri can kill most classes in 2 hits at short range, and he can have a bow which can instakill and even light on fire at mid-long range.
This was before, but with regen health on the server. Its more to show the jumps you can take. You need a medic/health packs to keep it up, though I imagine its much easier now there are gunboats.IncindiaryPickle said:Was this before or after the gunboats update?WolfLordAndy said:For those saying soldiers are too slow, or have no tactical value, check out the speed and positions they can get into:
