I read the article, but for the most part, the arguments are Heavily flawed:

Just watch the move: A man from Earth.

You mean I'll stay behind after the universal heat death? Well, compared to infinity, the time until that happens is approximately nothing(literally, not as a figure of speech) and that's kind of a big deal. Also, does my body heal through magic, is made invulnerable to permanent invury or something like that, or can I still lose parts of my body through injury? If so, when my body is shredded into subatomic particles by cosmic phenomenon, what exactly am I? Do I still somehow think and feel through magic? Or maybe I'm completely immune to bodily injury.

If I could choose when I pass away then I'd quite happily go ahead, im sure I would'nt be the only immortal around.

Also you say we would be left behind in evolutionary ways, just because we would maybe be behind doesnt mean we wouldnt be a valued addition, I mean honestly, history is made by the victors yet we have a proper first hand experience, we would be the most valued members of society due to our experience.

and what someone said earlier, learn all the skills youd need for a successful life, hell you have the time now. learn how to be the chessmaster of life.

Yes, I wouldn't mine being a freak of the future, I really don't think anyone would want to mess with someone who can't die, I don't mind forgetting things that would happen to me in the past, and if I had to remember, I would right it down, although they would probably have some way of having more memory in the future... Maybe some kind of hard drive which you put in your head... Anyway, I doubt time will go any faster just because I am immortal, and finally, if I am trapped, I would easily get out eventually, be it the world imploding or just some robot getting rid of rubble. Also, if I couldn't die then could I just launch myself into space if the human race dies out and find some alien race or just some random planet to live on (preferably in a luxurious rocket of the future)

Edit: Also what would happen if you cut off a limb or get blown up

I must contest the "time-speeding-up" thing. Logically, we perceive time as moving more quickly because our brains, as they age and gradually die, are processing information at a slower rate. If we are magically preserved in our prime, as the poll suggests, that degradation would be halted. Therefore, our perception of time would not speed up.

As for the memory thing, aren't there techniques for improving memory recollection and, for all intents and purposes, storage? Certainly these would only carry you so far, but eventually, as others have suggested, you would be able to augment your normal capacity, eliminating that particular problem.

Yeah, I'd take immortality. I'm more interested in what the future holds. Absolutely no investment in the present.

If I have immortality I dont die therefore immortality = good even with those "supposed" thoughts by cracked.
Alive is better than death, especially with no consequence(of death).

I'd be physically my age forever? I think not. Acne has not grown on me, figuratively speaking. I'd rather not have that for an eternity.

What kind of hipster douchebag answers no? Seriously? LIVING FOREVER. You could rule the world by default, no questions asked. Could get boring? Did imagination die in the past 5 years and I just haven't noticed it or something? Too much depression on this forum. Lighten ups.
Its not imagination dying or a douchebag answer, some people honestly believe living forever could suck. I mean, you'd outlive everyone you'd ever love, even your own children. And no, ruling the world doesn't work that way anymore.

Even before I read the link, no. I would only accept extended life, and that'd be about 50 years or something. Just enough to really get tired of it. I don't love life enough to want to live forever.

I'd only take immortality if pain was non-existant (or numbed immensely, like you have) and I CAN die, as long as I can choose when. So, no, I wouldn't eat the gummy bear.

No. Not unless I can be killed in at least one way.

Think long term. This planet ain't going to be around forever, and even then, we're probably not going to be here in ten thousand years. While you're reading this, a supervolacano could erupt and the seas would boil and ash could cloud the sky, or a meteor could hit, or the gamma radiation from an exploding star could burn the earth.

Living through that would suck.

Out of shear curiosity, I would eat the gummi bear. Who knows what heights humanity will reach? Or lows? Doesn't anyone else want to see?

Besides, if humanity does die out, you could style yourself as the god of whatever rises up next.

Not being able to be physically harmed is strange, impossible and leads to strange things. If I was unable to be physically harmed, how am I able to move? How does the particles I am made up of know that they are moving because a knife in my back and not just my muscles pushing them around? Can I cut my hair? Can I built a power plant producing infinite energy using these apparently incredible forces holding me together?

Personally, i would probably incapacitate the time traveler and take his time travel device, but not the gummi bear. I would want to know the secrets of the universe but not at the cost of my own mortality. Once my curiosity has been fufilled (I'd probably finish when i'm a old man) i'd destroy both the gummi bear and the time machine, because no one deserves that much power. Then i'd live out the rest of my days in peace with what i've learned (which i would keep to myself).

Why not take the gummi 'for teh lolz'? Because I would want to know humanitie's greatest mystery: death

[small]And then theres that ol' "being the last human alive" chestnut. Yeah, that too....[/small]
