It'd be too much like watching reality TV when people are around, and too lonely when they weren't (unless everyone else became a ghost as well), plus the terms of "completely destroyed" are too vague for my liking (does this mean that everything on that spot of land must be gone, can it be buried, is it only the foundation that matters, if a single plank of wood from a house is left am I still stuck there, and does that mean that if the outskirts are destroyed I can't enter them, are all questions left unanswered), so I'd have to say since I've got to move on sometime, I'd rather go quickly than watch my legacy fade away and be stuck looking out a window (either figuratively or literally) for more than double what my life was.
