Yeah.

Yeah, parts of it would definitely suck, but it sounds a hell of a lot more interesting than my current life.

I fear eternity more than I fear death. This is an even worse version of what it would be like to be Davy Jones in the Pirates movies, and I still wouldn't even want that job.

Of course I would. At some point I will finally be able to say one of two things:

"I have become death, destroyer of worlds"

or for those LRR fans in the audience

"I have become death, destroyer of balls"

my hatred for the common man and knowledge that mortality is the funnyest most ironic joke in history would make me take that offer

As long as I get to have fun i.e. Haunt the playboy mansion/chocolate factory/Manabar, have a reality show based on me or be in the next Big Brother!

some pain now and then... plus pure awesomeness...

wait "my loved ones"? what about new ones? like a new GF or something? they die too?

wait, actually, loved ones dying AT ALL scares me off this deal. Why would I whish death on you if I love you? that would be bad.

I never said, we should "wait" for people to be ready to die. I merely stated that, there is a difference. The difference indicates the reason for taking a life. One is policy the other is duty.
but your assuming that ever single one of these deaths is unwarrented

like im sure you would have no issue touching someone whos heavily injured in a car crash and logic says that person should have died in that car crash(this assumes that the only way to die is to be touched by a reaper)

while you view it as morally wrong

i see it as balance

also murder is the wrong term. to me murder is the vengeful or traumatic taking of a life

if i was told i had to go get a rocket launcher and blow someone up of course id have an issue with that

but most deaths have a reason be it gunshot heart attack aneurism

any death where i had to personally inflict terror on the person would be a no go

but a passing touch would be fine(and theres nothing to say that you couldnt be nice about it "any final wishes" and what not if you wanted to)
The moral dilemma does not lie in being the reaper, but becoming him. A perspective you seem to ignore.

For the record I never used the term "murder". You must have me confused with someone else.

That would be too fun. I'd make bets with all the other angels on how they would die. You know assuming there might be an Armageddon at some point.

I think it would take a large amount of morals and self-sacrifice to do death's job. If he thought I'd be a suitable candidate then I'd be honored.

The first thing I'd say to him: "Hello Death, Big fan of your work..."

My first thought would be, "Immortality, fuck yeah!" But then I'd wonder exactly why the Reaper needs a replacement. Is he finite? If so, then perhaps not...
