Maybe for a short time to see what it's like but I'm totally content with my current sex.

I would change my physical sex to match my true gender. If that's what you mean.

But if my only option was to change my true gender, I'd go with that. Better than being gender dysphoric.

Also, anyone who is not gender dysphoric should not wish for this. Maybe you would be okay for a short time, but that's it. It probably sounds really awesome, but it's not. Yes I'm aware this is all speculation. Just putting it out there.

Maybe being a woman for a few days to see 'her/their' point of view couldn't be bad, but permanet?... No... I know I'm content being a male and couldn't think/be otherwise.

If it was temporal then I'd give it a go. It would be an interesting experience and not just for "exploring" the female body. I'd like to see what it's like being a woman, might help me understand them better, but ultimately I would want to go back to my real self, which I have lived with and know. I know my body's rhythm and I wouldn't mess with it for too long. Longest I would spend as a girl, a week

Yes. Preferrably permanent.

Also, these threads are significantly funnier when viewed in context of each poster's avatar *cough cough*

I love that this topic keeps cropping up from time to time. Keep it up!

Meh, to satisfy intellectual curiosity I could see switching for a time. It'd be an interesting experience if nothing else.

For a short time yes.

If I was a hot girl.

I'd probably sit around all day playing with my boobs though.
LOL I think most guys who would turn into a girl would just do that XD

I'm with the OP on this one, though to a lesser extent.

To be honest, this guy says it better than I can:

Yes, I think I would. If the change could be complete and perfect, and would not just be from now and onwards, but also my past.

I have often thought, sometimes yearned, that I had been born a girl. I don't really have an explanation for this, the idea just seems right. There is of course treatments and procedures one could go through to fullfill that, but I won't.

See, while I would prefer to have been a girl, I am quite okay with being a boy. I do manly stuff, enjoy manly stuff, and am comfortable with my body. My personality is pretty manly most of the time. So it's not that being a man is a problem for me. I just would have prefered being a woman.

And that is why I would never take steps to take my gender, at least not through the means we have available. Because to me, the "benefit" is not enough, not complete and total enough, especially not when compared to the social stigma.

I have all the respect and best wishes in the world for those that would undergo gender changing operations, but it is not for me. And it¨s not necessary for me.

But if I could, if some Deus Ex Machine could change it all, retcon me if you will... Then yes, I would like to.

Does that make sense?
To answer you, Longshot: yes, it makes sense to me.

If this deus-ex-machina retconning yourself into the other sex was possible, how long it would take for a person to get used to that new status quo to the point it becomes just as traumatic to go back to the old self as it was to change in the first place?

Also to what extent does biology and upbringing make a person? I mean if only a person's body was changed, then you'd be likely landing in a man in a woman's body situation and viceversa. And yet even worse one can argue that if you changed both a person's biology and upbringing (so as to have been born in said sex) you would have basically overwritten him or her, leaving little to nothing of the original self.

Just some thoughts.

Hah, if I could change back/forth at will, fuck yeah; if nothing would make for a great spying tool, assuming I didn't look exactly the same after change. Interesting to see what it's like.

But I suspect (with exceptions): the grass is always greener on the other side of the hedge.
(Aimed more at those who don't desperately want surgery.)

As for permanance? Not a chance; I like my beard too much :D

So long as I could control when I switch genders, yes. None of that hot and cold water that Ranma has to put up with. Sounds like good fun to me.

No thanks. Being a male has no down sides. So why would I want to handicap myself?
It sounds sexist, but this. Guys have better blood circulation, more efficient digestion, greater muscle mass, and stronger immune systems, and receive preferential treatment from almost every institution ever. It's not that guys are better; it's just that being a guy is easier.

Much as it sounds stereotypical, girls have prettier clothes than guys.
Having said that, I wouldn't want to be one for anything more than three weeks.

Plus, my boyfriend might have something to say about me suddenly being sans-penis...

I'd probably make an ugly woman, but I'd do it with no hesitation.

Touchy subject, I'm still thinking about this...

Normally, I would say no - but I realise that some of the people and (more importantly) concepts I love are female.

But, the problem is, I don't love them, nor do I lust for them - it is more a sort of admiration.

And if I admire them so much, it would make sense for me to strive to be them, which would involve a change of sex.

But...

For a week maybe personally I would rather live 80 years as a guy (as i am now) then get reborn and live as a female for another 80 years, 160 years of life is far more than most will get
