Poll: Would you consider yourself a regular here on the escapist?

1: Do you consider yourself a recognized member of the escapist? I seriously doubt it. There may be a couple who'll recognise my avatar or name, but that would be about it.

2: Do you consider yourself to be an ACTIVE member of the escapist? To a degree, yeah. I've been pretty active since December of 2011. I do a lot of lurking too, I only post in several threads, not all (not even most, really). I'm not active all across the board though, I've only posted in Games and Off-topic, with the very occasional Religion & Politics post.

I think that sums it up alright.

Says the user who joined February this year? I'll have to PM Timelord and tell him we've found another time-traveller on the site!

Don't you remember BathorysGraveland? Same avatar, same nickname, sans the 2 on the end, bigger potcount (and presumably join date further back in time). Dunno why he made a second account but I certainly recall the first one.

Ah, that clears up some questions and explains why he/she seemed vaguely familiar, though I won't pretend to understand the reasoning behind making a new account that's no different from an older one.

Likely not, though I've probably made an impact of some sort on a few people.

Technically not as of this moment. Though the Escapist is always open in a tab and I frequently check the articles and boards. I've been lurking since Spring '08 on a fairly regular basis and I recall the days when Yahtzee used to have pop songs for the opening of Zero Punctuation. So in a way, I'd surmise that I am if not only in spirit.

Yes, I'm active and yes I'm a regular. Not so much on the weekends, but weekdays my status will say "Online now" for a good portion of the day. The Escapist is a nice tab to have open.

As for being noticed? I couldn't say, I think some people might recognize me, but many more don't know or care that I exist.

Though I don't know if people recognize me, if they do it's probably because of my rainbow manatee avatar.

1) Not really. While I do come here often and frequently post, there's not really anything I do that particularly stands out among the rest outside of linking to a certain Avenue Q song whenever a thread about racism crops up.

2) Yes. This website is pretty much the first thing I check when I go online and I like to post as frequently as I can, the only times I don't being if I really can't find something to say, if there's a certain subject matter I'm sick to death of hearing about or if I really can't find the energy to be snarky.

1. I think so. I'm not exactly sure the things I've been noticed for are great, people seem to notice me more when I'm getting angry.

2. Yep, I'm here quite a lot. I usually have a million tabs open and the Escapist is always one of them. I've been accused of replying to quotes too fast, but I just notice when my tabs change. Plus I type pretty quick.

Who accuses people of replying to quotes too fast?

I do see myself as a regular 'round here, but I don't think I'm very recognisable, since it's not very often I actually post anything. Even less if we go by posts worth reading.

But I do recognise almost every single avatar in this thread so far, and I can link most of them to a user without looking. This lack of change in familiarity pleases me. :3

I recognise most people around here, even if they aren't that regular. Maybe sans some that only go on other boards (so, not GD or OT) - even if they have a double digit posts, I'd probably go "Hey, I know I've seen them in the past". Now, if only I was that good with faces and names in real life...
