No. I'm too irresponsible to have kids. Funny thing is, a friend of mine has noticed how much I love looking at cute little babies and is convinced that one day me and my girl are going to break up since i'll want to have kids and she hates the very thought of pregnancy and doesn't find kids cute at all.

I don't know.

It's not one of those things I even think about, If it ever came to it, maybe, but at this point, I have no idea if I would really have children.

Having children would be the worst thing I could do as a parent. There's no way I'm repeating the mistake of passing on these genes.

Not at the moment, and maybe never. At the moment I am too irresponsible and immature to have a child. I can also be rather selfish and in my opinion, once you have a child, you take a back seat as the child comes first, which I am unwilling to do.

Not planning on having children, I'm gay... so that's a problem already, but I wouldn't want to have someone else's child and I wouldn't adopt... I just don't like kids, nothing against them really, but I had to pretty much raise my three younger cousins by my seld, so I've had enough of kids.
... though I'm always allowed to change my mind.

I'm guessing the majority are going to say they someday want children, but if you do, why, or if you don't then why also? Got a school debate on the topic tomorrow and looking for some fresh perspective.
This thread again? We had one of these last week.

Yes, I am planning to have children. In the near future, actually. I would have started sooner, but health insurance is expensive.

Why? Because my genetic code is too valuable and must be sent forward so that future generations may bask in my genetic perfection.
This. I have genetic perks that humanity must share! (see immunity to the downside of alcohol, utterly and completely!)

Anyway, I see myself having kids, but I don't see where it would happen when I wouldn't freak out that the "me" portion of my life was ending for at least eighteen years.

I'm 28, male.

I have no desire to have children, not because I don't like kids, they can be fun, but honestly, its just too damn expensive. I can barely afford MY life, much less trying to pay for someone else's. Having a kid in this day in age is just asking for the worst to happen to you.

Also, I mostly don't like people, a specific person is fine, but PEOPLE...oh geez. Why would I want to add to that ever increasing mass of traffic and congestion? No thanks.

I would love to if I was in a stable relationship. I'm still a college kid so it's in the distance though having kids would be soemthing I imagine myself looking for ina relationship. Probaly the results of a catholic upbringing and all that.

Not really seeing them in the grand scheme of things right now.
But I will definitely aim for having kids when all things settle down a bit study/career wise.
And two would be a great little amount for me.

No, I don't think I will. I doubt I'd be a very good father. Also I don't want to be tied down like that just in case I get really bored with life at some point and decide to travel the world or kill myself or something like that (and I think that statement alone should be enough evidence that I wouldn't be a good father).

I intend to have 2 children as I don't want to be worsening the problem of overpopulation.

I might consider adopting, but I'd prefer to live without the financial/energy drain that is a child. It's a better idea to donate to foundations who know what they're doing.

I just can't stand children. Everything they do makes me pissed and there really should be a law against bringing children on public transportations.

Where's the maybe? I'd like to, but a woman not wanting kids wouldn't be a dealbreaker.

A lot of people find newfound freedom in adulthood and decide they never want children, only to make some on accident... I, on the other hand, wanted to fuck around until I found a girl I could "love", marry, et cetera... then when I was about 24 I realized I wanted no part of a Hollywood-inspired romance... that I just loved the sex, and wanted nothing to do with procreation or child-rearing. My opinion remains there six years later, and I don't forsee it changing.

Yes, we're actually trying right now (no, not THAT much right now) We recently got our funding together to unsure a good future which is about 25000, We got together like 9 years ago and started putting money towards a funding for at the time a undecided purpose which was about 50% of both our incomes and I have lately gotten quite a few projects which got me a lot of money. It's probably not gonna supply for his/her total costs but atleast we can be sure we can support him'her for a long time no matter what.

If you think kids are boring and not for you, then I'm afraid you're actually the butt of the joke here. See, kids past the diaper age are crazy fun with their absurd behaviour and morality. Your parents had you just so they could laugh at... with you. And they are also great company, since nowadays they sit at their pc in your basement until they're 30.
Ha, this is so true, my younger sister does some of cutest and craziest things imaginable and her morality and world view is... interesting, to say the least. I'm sure the majority of people who say that kids bore them either haven't had the chance to be around them much or doesn't know how to interact with them.

Plan to have kids maybe 2ish years after I get married. So 'bout 3 years from now.

And given my soon to be wife's stance on it, even if for some reason unforeseen we can't have kids, we will be adopting.
