Nope.

If he was sorry, he'd turn himself in. I might give him the benefit of the doubt and not report him, but I'd mostly just turn his ass straight around.

I don't know. Though I guess I would let the police get him.

If it would happen.

I'm going to posit the idea to my GF who happens to be jewish... see what she says just because I love laughing at her religion's bigotry and hypocrisy.

As for me, I'd let him stay for a few moments, days, weeks, and I'd even equip him with a bug-out bag just in case they come for him and he needs a quick escape. I can't stand the idea of throwing someone to the dogs.

Well I would tell the police but I would hope that they would see that he was remorseful. That counts for alot, I think, in those sorts of trials. What they did in those concentration camps it was unforgivable and if he was an officer, well he wasn't just a soldier following orders. He should pay for what he's done. There is an old lady who lives nearby me who was in a concentration camp I would owe it to her to turn him in. It's just the right thing to do.

Also it would play on my mind that if he is capable of that level of atrocity, what else is he capable of.

I'd house him for long enough to call up my friend who was in the IDF and invite him over.

I might help out an old soldier, because they weren't all Nazis, but a Neo or a party member from the day...not so much.

I happen to know an ex-nazi actually, he served in the war was captured by Russia and escaped. He's got many friends in what seems to be nearing the end of his life (he's not in great health) and 2 of these friends are jews, one I believe is one who's a survivor of the war as well.

It's not like all the Nazis knew there was genocide going on. From what I recall he was drafted and was put into a tank division.

God said to forgive, but they killed my great grandpa. I'm not sur e what I'd do. I guess let him off the hook. God could use him for good if he's truly sorry. If not he has a bullet to his head coming.

You want to know what I would do?

Absolute fucking nothing.

Even if he wasn't sorry for what he did...I refuse to turn in this man. Hollywood, Israel, and the Jewish people have villianized these people just for the sole sake that their ancestors were killed and it makes me sick.

Has the man apologized to God? Has he confessed his sins to Him alone? Has he said "God, Jesus...forgive me?". Even then, what right are you to judge in the midst of warfare?

Guess what world? The instance he does that...all the tears have been WIPED away...

We allow black people leniency on a sociological level towards crimes in the United States because of "historical discrimination and inequality", we allow the Mexicans to walk onto land which they take resources from because they are "starving" and "can't maintain anything in their own land", we make up excuses left and right for everyone to lay claim that Israel has a right to Palestinian land for a racial ideology that is insultingly masqueraded as a religion...but nooooo...the German people have absolutely no right whatsoever to ever lay the claim that they had their land usurped by foreign powers and that their country is in actuality BLAMELESS for what happened.

The man is innocent until death in my eyes.

It's only because we've been force-fed that image so many times in our lives, via movies, via war films, via Hollywood...that we actually believe this shit that we're often told. Was it bad? Yes. But it's been overstated as to how "horrible" it really was. I see their deaths as no different than the deaths of soldiers.

Signed.
A man with German ancestry and other "untermenscht" mixings.

I'd harbor him, One he seems like a good guy now and he seems to understand the extent of what he did, he's dwelled on it and must live with what he's done. And I don't exactly like the justice system. And aside from that, what happened back then doesn't affect me, or bother me, because I'm not a very good person.

They couldn't do anything about it. They were fools, and have changed. One exception. If the words or phrase "I was just following orders." come out of their mouth, I'm turning them in. To quote The 9th Doctor: "And with that sentence, you just lost the right to even talk to me."
This. And Kudos for the Who quote.

I said forgive the man, with a historically Jewish God, a Jewish Savior, with a mixed ancestry that would have been looked down upon for being of a certain descent, and you have the right to claim I am racist?

This is the foolishness I just spoke of. So many sides are given the full right to use what is and isn't racism, yet in this case the Germans are not by any stretch of the imagination. Even then, the constant reoccuring imagery and force-fed notions that it was worse because it was done to the "Chosen People" could be seen as racist as well.

The improper plural... so intense. Use he/she or (my personal favorite) 'it' (really humanizes the Nazi, doesn't it? :D)

If they ever spoke anything regarding "Duty", I would do the honorable thing and show the authorities to him. But in this case? This man would deserve redemption. His actions as a Philanthropist speaks for itself, and his actions at my door would further justify his cry for help. I would take him in and do everything I could to help him, even smuggle him out of the country if I had to.

Why? Because a man who seeks redemption for the deaths that he holds himself responsible for deserves a second chance. Responsibility is the first step to seeking redemption. Yet so many people have forgotten what responsibility is about lately that it sickens me.

What the hell are you talking about, dude. We're not talking about prosecuting random Germans, we're talking about prosecuting a Nazi that committed crimes against humanity. Unless you think Jews don't count as a part of humanity, in which case you're a racist. And racism is bad, no matter who spouts it.

Police really don't handle war crimes. If we are talking Crimes against humanity from the 1940's then that guy is at least 70 years old which is assuming he was 5 at the end of the war. To have actually served would be closer to 85-90. Maybe ten more years for being an officer(depends if he went in as an officer or not). At that point I would think U.N. would state he is too old. So yeah I would harbor him.

No, if he really was sorry he'd turn himself in etc.

Even if he has changed, that doesn't change the fact that he was a Nazi Officer. They all deserve every damn consequence that was coming to them for the horrible things they did.

If this was a random Nazi member that was basically forced into things I could see it a different way, a lot of citizens back then had no choice. But this is an officer.

Why do people think he'd have turned himself in if he was sorry?
Being sorry does not mean losing your sense of self-preservation. That man would know that if he turned himself in he'd likely be screwed.

I would have no issues doing it if I was sure he wouldn't get caught. Don't really want to be an accomplice, but.. yeah, I'd probably do it anyway unless I was sure he'd get caught if I did.

Don't see the point in punishing him at this stage. Wouldn't really consider him the same person he was before.

EDIT: Tempted to say something nasty to all the people saying "justice is needed" or whatever.
I'm going to sleep on this and decide when I wake up.

EDIT2: Yeah, the way people are spouting "this man needs justice" is bullshit. He regrets what he's done, he's repented, he's tried to fix things as best he can, what more can he do?
Turning himself in is actually counter-productive IMO, because it means he cant do the charity work etc.
