Trust me, you'd have to be a serial killer to go into eternal darkness.

Well i could spend my time stealing togas to make the ultimate toga, and pronounce myself lord of all togas in the afterlife.
Hmm pushing other people in sounds fun also.

but... id jump, judging from the above it would not lead to a favorable outcome, but hell i regret nothing, even if what i did in my life was described as evil it was still my choice and i stand by it. (at least this is my current opinion)

Yep. I'd jump.

Interesting analogy/allegory of purgatory, by the way.

I've broadly led a pretty 'good' life, in my own humble opinion. Just in case I'd take time to think of any wrongs I've done and seek to make my pennance first. Then...

GERANIMO!!!

(sitting in a room full of dirty toga wearing flok for all eternity, that can't be good.)

Edit: If I find myself in a purgatory scenario, well, I MUST be there for a reason. Best be at home with that and accept your faults as a human being. Otherwise, I assume you jump in desperation... after a week or so of falling, I'm pretty sure you'd be bored.

Well, I'd have a go at finding how the hell we got in there.

Try to get to know the other occupants for a bit to see what can be made of the background of the jumpers who are absorbed vs those who keep falling... and if they sort of match the way I've tried to live my life (one prime commandment: don't be an asshole), I may hop in once I get bored.

Besides, I can swim.

I will definitely take the jump. Maybe I might just stay in the room for a while to gather my thoughts and think of whether I actually led a good life or not. Perhaps, I could speak with the others in the room and get to know them. Then I wait for my friends and family to enter the room, we'd jump altogether.

Now that I think about it, staying in the room might be interesting. I could change it into some sort of bar or lounge or something. Welcoming others who are newcomers, explain what they're doing here and share stories with each other. No doubt the room will be huge if someone dies everyday.

If I manage to be taken to eternal bliss, good for me. But if I am falling, I might as well fall with style.

Considering that people are dying all the time, the room must be pretty large (assuming that EVERYONE who dies enters the room). And since people are dying all the time, it might be interesting meeting all the new people. I don't think the room would be all the bad

Well, I'm not sure if i'd go poof or fall eternally, but i'm suspecting fall. Also not a big people person, so fall I shall, down the well i go. But, i won't jump, I'm gonna cannonball down the well

I'd jump without that much hesitation I have always lived my life as the kindest person I could be so I'd be pretty safe.

Why not? Worst case scenario is that you don't get to go wherever the light goes. So it comes down to an eternity of nothing in a room or an eternity of falling and possibly at least getting a change of scenery? May as well go skydiving forever.
Yup. Don't really see an alternative; staying in that room would result in permanent madness after a while, so I'll take my chances with the well.
Permanent madness... or an eternal orgy!
thats what i thought!

It is filled with a slimy liquid, and stretches down into an infinity of darkness (but it opens up into a wider chamber farther down).

My question to you all is this: Would you jump into the well, and risk damnation, or would you stay in the room?
An infinity of darkness eh? Good thing it opens up into a wider chamber within sight. o_O

Well, this is odd enough; whatever though. I'd jump in; no use standing around. As I apparently automatically know the circumstances surrounding my position and the potential outcome.

Also, the outcomes are defective in the extreme.

When I'd get bored of the people and the not being able to go anywhere... yes
But I'd do it with multiple people so that if you are doomed, you probably won't be doomed all by yourself :D

Unless you think an eternity of getting new friends would be liveable. Then I'd stay I guess...
I will become king of the room!!!!
Seeeeeerve meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Jump with someone.

I would sit with people talk for days (or more) most likily. When I find that one person I feel has had a very similar life. We jump together. With our lifes being so close we would either get blue light or the fall together forever.

You wouldn't be able to speak but we both we feel comfort that we are in it together.

Of course I would, even though I'd almost definitely get the damnation one. But I'd hang around for a while first in the room.

If I receive damnation then I probably deserve it. If I don't then I go and enjoy the afterlife. wouldn't be able to survive stuck in a concrete room with people in togas, I hate frat-boys
