That's kind of a sticking point isn't it? If not serving causes them then some sort of pain or distress then, yeah, it'd be in it's best interests I guess. No I think slavery is the vilest of humans sins for the abuse it's silently perpetuates. Victims of slavery, especially those indoctrinated cannot give genuine consent to too, even if on the appearance they do.

You do realise slavery was an extremely common thing across practically the entire world for most of human history? From what I understand, revolts were extremely uncommon, and successful ones even rarer. In fact, the only successful slave revolt I know of was the Haitian revolution, and that was a very unusual situation where something ridiculous like 90% of the population were slaves. Even then it worked pretty well until the French revolution happened and people started getting ideas about human rights, and even then the whole thing was started off by free people revolting over taxes and shit.Hoplon said:

Honestly it's the creepiness factor that is the main barrier. I suppose if I was brought up in a situation where this was normal though that wouldn't be a concern, and I can't see anything obviously wrong with it morally speaking, it isn't harming anyone as far as I can tell, and is in fact helping the servant in this theoretical situation. So that makes it morally right.

No. If it's a slave, that's an outright no for obvious reasons. If, however, they are a servant/butler that does it for a wage as a job it would be a calculated no. Partly because it's way too rich for my blood, but mainly because I hate talking to people and especially making requests more than I hate work. Asking for things makes me feel a right ****, and expecting them to do it would make me feel worse.

Wow this turned out to be a lot more awkward than I expected it to be. Slavery is a definite no-go, at best if I had the money I would hire someone but that would be a employee, not a slave. No. I wouldn't. Here's an ethical delima: is it any less monstrous to own a slave if you've programmed their brain to "enjoy" slavery? Is it really their choice to be a slave, if you've programmed them to think that way?
