I still find it weird that it says anderson was born in london yet anderson has one of the most strong american accents in the game (IMO)Vault101 said:

I've been doing so for quite a while. One culd argue there is Desmond...but to be honest, there has been so fucking little focuse on Desmond in those games (The one character who isn't a twat, is actually interesting and has a decent sci-fi plot going on) he almost doesn't count.
Of course, I also couldn't give a shit who I play as or what happens as long as the story/premise are interesting/good, and the gameplay is solid.

I don't understand what the OP is on about here. There are plenty of non-american protagonists. You'd really have to have your head in a bucket not to realize that.

Well I'm not American, every game I play is someone of different nationality but is that even a thing? Do people, aside form the very occasional weirdo really have issues playing someone a different nationality to them?
I mean I can understand a style popular in one country not really making a connection with many people in another, cultural differences and all that jazz but refusing to play a game because of the protagonists nationality? That?s just silly.

Well Link isn't American. I don't think Mario is an American. Commander Shepard can be born on another planet I think. And isn't Donkey Kong a gorilla? If he was from America, would he be an American? Are animals in America American? Can a nationality be applied to a non-human? Well, I'm not a huge fan of FPSes, military FPSes even less so.
So, in looking at in FPS terms, I wouldn't be any more inclined to play a military shooter with a non-American protagonist than I am to play one with an American protagonist.
As for other games in general, I have plenty where you don't play as an American, plenty where you don't even play as someone from Earth. The nationality of the protagonist is a non-issue in deciding my game purchases.
