The only reason for a character to be gay is if the player makes them gay or if them being gay has heavy significance towards the plot.

Otherwise their sexuality is hardly an issue. Master Chief could be gay and it wouldn't make a difference.

If the character is well characterized, if the gameplay is good, if there's a good story then i really dont care about the main character's sexuality.

As long as in the game(if its a male main character) you find out about his gayness at the end, and hes barely gay, more bi-curious then gay...

I prefer comically and subtly gay things in games. You know, those somewhat questionable events where you know somebody's thinking of someone a certain way? I find it hilarious.


Still, I think it's best to leave the sexuality of a main character unstated. I mean, who the hell really cares? So long as you don't even bother to state it no problems are made.
