hmm must be your connection, my 360 never lags? if it is its just the constant game lag, but i haven't played mag and dont have an interest in it...is it fps or tps? and is it realistic or more like halo ish?feebstalicious93 said:no, it can't happen.
when i play MW2 on my 360, it lags A LOT, and that is with like 20 people
this is just my opinion, but all of my friends who only have 360 think that teamwork is a stupid idea, and they refuse to believe that MAG doesn't lag
I think you shouldn't care about MAG, just get Bad Company 2. I played the beta and honestly it wasn't that good.zzz3339 said:I was wondering, who else thinks that the 360 should get a game like MAG?
Pretty much this. 256 players just sounds like one big clusterf#@k if you ask me.Pimppeter2 said:I don't see why it shouldn't if it can be pulled off.
But that doesn't mean I would be interested in it
Except that the max number of players you can hear on a given channel is 8. Half of those 256 players aren't even on your side! If anything, this game should come packed with a mic. The fundamental weakness of MAG is that if you don't have a mic, you're playing in an endless cycle of giant team deathmatches. It is quite incredible how four friends with mics can easily take over a match if both teams are uncoordinated, especially on defense.Seras said:also sure everyone on the 360 has a mic.....great... could you imagen a game of 256 MW2 players screaming at you?
Sup bro, you waiting out your ban on /v/ too?Xzi said:Like I care. 360 owners got ME2 on the 26th, rated at 95%+. PS3 owners got MAG on the same day, with sub-par ratings at best, 80%-. I'll take a deep RPG over a generic shooter with extra players any day.zzz3339 said:I was wondering, who else thinks that the 360 should get a game like MAG?
The one game I would want ported from the PS3 to 360 is Demon's Souls.
The lag has nothing to do with the platform. Your local connection, the efficiency of the game's net code and the power and location of the device operating as the server are the relevant factors.feebstalicious93 said:no, it can't happen.

You don't actually speak with all 256 people and instead communicate with your own squad.SonicKoala said:Too many people have mics on the 360, and therefore you hear far too many retards talking during online multiplayer - can you IMAGINE the chaos that would ensue with 256 people?
Well then, in that case, there doesn't really seem to be any reason that Xbox couldn't have a game on the same level as MAG.Eclectic Dreck said:You don't actually speak with all 256 people and instead communicate with your own squad.SonicKoala said:Too many people have mics on the 360, and therefore you hear far too many retards talking during online multiplayer - can you IMAGINE the chaos that would ensue with 256 people?
It could also be a clusterf*ck if there was a free for all mode. Also, you're absolutely right about the mic thing, a squad with no mics accomplishes nothing and the squad that does always ends up on top. A mag like game would be more suitable for the xbox simply because everyone has a mic. Although I don't think it would be as good, just a personal opinion. But with something like this: http://kotaku.com/5454121/mag-makers-call-xbox-live-more-juvenile-than-psn dont extpect anything similar too soon, especially since their are enough fps's out there so satisfy everyone.Pingieking said:Funny, about 80% of the posts above me sound like they've never played MAG, and therefore have very little idea of what it actually is. The game is actually quite different from what the slogan of 256 player online FPS might suggest.

I actually think that once you hop over the technological limitations, it might work better on the X360 (assuming that it is possible to hop over those said limitations). The lag should be no problem, you just need to invest in a good server system and not the crappy systems that MW2 employs. If the X360 can't handle the processing necessary, just scale down a bunch of stuff without killing the basic gameplay. People always tell me that graphics aren't that important (I generally disagree), so a downgrade there should be fine. The X360 has what many consider a superior online system in the XBL. With most of the player base equipped with mics, and the advantages of a better Friends system on the XBL, I think that a MAG style game would perform better on the X360.
As for the concerns of it being a clusterf*ck, I can tell you right now that it's not a clusterf*ck. In fact, as a gamer who has experienced real clusterf*cks (from the heydays of Planetside), I can confidently say that MAG comes nowhere close to being a clusterf*ck. Only way for MAG to become a clusterf*ck is for all 256 players to chase after one objective, and that never happens.
Here you go:apsham said:How exactly do you know this? I mean, dear lord.. we all know that the Playstation 3 has superior hardware capabilities but that doesn't always mean a superior game. The capability is there but many times over it has proven to have not been used to full potential.Zedzero said:360 doesn't have the power like PS3, it would be immpossible, maybe next gen.
But the better portion of this topic, is the amount of people who are ignorant as to how MAG works and how a game would be developed based around this concept. It's a great day when people start to become cynical about something that isn't likely to exist.
