360 slim ads say it has built-in wireless and is kinect ready.
PS3 ads say it does everything.

So do you want built-in wireless and kinect or everything?
I laughed out loud on that one.

I'd say a ps3 just for the sheer awesomeness of uncharted 2 and Little big planter along with MGS4 and the motorstorm games.

Go with PS3 Slim, I have one and trust me, it is great. I also have an Xbox, and I won't lie Xbox Live is better, but not by much, certainly not $50 better. There are a ton of great exclusives on PS3 as well, except of course for Bioware games, which you can still get on your PC.

I have an HDTV and ps3 ....... ships with an HDMI cable too.
You shouldn't let this be a factor, since HDMI cables are dirt cheap and monetary wise, this can be countered by the fact the 360 ships with a pair of batteries for it's controller.

360 has some really good non FPS exclusives, which are mainly Bioware games.
Okay, before my head explodes, these aren't exclusives. They all exist on the PC too. Which he has. Which therefore means that getting a 360 for a gimped version of a game he could get (and probably already has) on PC is foolish.
You have that whole line ass backwards. Mass effect was far superior on 360 than PC, I own both. And it's a console exclusive. The reason 360 has so few of its own, is because it's really easy to port from PC to 360, and from 360 to PC. Where as a PS3 needs a whole different team.

Plus 360 has much better selections in terms of Live and DLC.
I only really use my PS3 when a PS3 exclusive is out, but other than that, it collects dust.

If possible get an older PS3 with the backwards compatibility, and the other features raped from it. Or, just get the 360 slim.
Well therefore, as far as exclusives go, if you have a good gaming PC, you'd go with a PS3. Might as well get the multi-platform (and PC/360) games on PC to squeeze a higher resolution/more frames out of the game. Plus you can connect a 360 controller to a PC and make it work.

To be honest, I don't have a gaming PC nor a 360, although logic would lead me to believe that Mass Effect would be better on PC. What makes it better on 360? (Not trying to flame here, just curious).
Uh, yes you can use a 360 controller on PC. I do it all the time.
And Masseffect had some memory problems on PC. Also, the 3rd person shooter like mass effect are often much better on console. I actually had 1 on PC first, then I played it on 360 at my buddies house and went out and got the 360 version, its a noticeable difference.

"Memory problems"? That sounds like it would be a problem with your PC rather than the game itself. I fail to see why you would want it on 360 when you can play it on PC with the 360 controller. That would give you the best of both worlds.

Also, you seem confused. So I'll bold for you.

The Playstation 3 Slim, 360 has no games so no I'm not getting a 360 short

I haven't been getting any use out of my 360, no exclusives to keep me on it and so I'm pretty much getting rid of it, I prefer my third party titles on a more powerful system =P

Want games? Xbox.
Want Graphics? Ps3.
Easy.
Fail troll...

OT: Both systems have their great exclusives, but for you I would say the PS3. You already have a PC, and you said you won't play FPS's on consoles, which really takes the steam out of the 360 really fast. The PS3 has more exclusive non-fps games, and I will list the ones I have.
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 1
inFamous (Favorite Game ever)
God of War 1+2 (Remastered PS3 version)
God of War 3
Heavy Rain
Little Big Planet
Metal Gear Solid 4 (Please try to play the first 3 or you will be completely fucking lost)
Ratchet&Clank Future Series

The rest of my PS3 games are either FPS's or non-exclusives that I got after my 360 died.

PS. What type of computer do you have?

For me the deciding factor has to be in the games you are actually interested in, and do you have anyone to play with online.

I fucking hate when people say the ps3 has a better library. Statements like that completely shit all over the concept of personnal taste. I know the ps3 library very well and for all its vastness I can only say I am interested in 2/3 games. The xbox on the other hand has a library much more suited to my personal tastes and the fact that multiplatform games in general play better on xbox is a plus for me too.

I would always suggest to buy what your friends have, so you can play with them. Buying a ps3 is great and all, but if all your friends are on xbox live and you only bought it to play god of war then you didn't make a very wise investment did you.

Ultimately that's what it boils down too. Take your pick.

Do you know anything about PC gaming? The game had a memory leak problem, much like ETW and NTW, and APB. I have 4 processors, yet it would only use 1. Seriously, your amount of fanboy is nauseating.

I've got both and to be honest I get more use out of my PS3 than I ever will on xbox...but xbox isn't a bad system and you'll be fine either way...but if you want something that is the most useful and best out of the box I'd go with the PS3...i will say though I like the xbox controllers better than the PS3 ones. Overall experience goes to the PS3 though.

Firstly, I didn't know exactly what a "memory leak problem" is. Memory implicated RAM to me, not processing. Secondly, I'm really a PS3 fanboy over anything else. That and I'd never heard about Mass Effect having problems on the PC. And I know the 360 version had trouble with load-times, texture pop-in and framerate drops.

If you own a capable PC, PS3 is the best accompaniment by far, You get all the good exclusives, there's tons of great ones out already. Most of the 360 exclusives are on PC or go to PC at a later stage anyway. There's only a very small group of games that are pretty mediocre that stay 360 exclusive.

It's really a question of what you prefer: tolerating anti-social douches and no community on the PS3 network, or the verbal douches on XBox Live. Joking aside, I would go for the XBox 360. It's got a better online service, even though you have to pay for it. And the controller is much more comfortable than the PS(X) one. The answers you'll get in this thread'll largely be that the PS3 owners will suggest the PS3, while the XBox owners will suggest the Xbox.

You should get what a lot of your friends have, so you can play online with them.

Edit: Also, you can play psn for free, while xbox live will charge you $50 a year.
this. well the first part.

Also that 50 dollars comes out to 14cents a day, thats less than a small Ethiopian child.

That money also goes towards helping it not crash when modern warfare 2 comes out.

That's pretty much it, usually within about a year any 360 exclusive will go to Windows. It seems Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts avoided that, and Alan Wake might as well, since it was supposed to be cross platform and then they pulled it for Windows. I'm not sure either of them are worth buying a 360 for - I've got BKN&B, and it strikes me that it'll take a while for it to actually get fun, easy enough to get cheap given it was bundled with everything, so no reason not to get it if you have a 360, but not a system seller. Alan Wake I'm undecided on as well, and I think I'll wait for it to hit second hand and/or come down in price significantly.

WHY THE FUCK ISN'T THE PS3 SELLING!?
http://hub.vgchartz.com/

It is selling, just not in North America. In Japan it's slaughtering the 360 (small surprise, given the xenophobia Japanese have), and in Europe it's winning over the 360 by a significant margin.

http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/80826/2010-year-on-year-sales-and-market-share-update-to-july-3rd/

According to that the only year the 360 beat the PS3 was 2009. I'm not entirely sure about those numbers, but it's damn close.
