In terms of speed, it's my HDD. [2x 1.5TB 7500RPM drives]. In terms of reliability, it's my RAM, I had 4x 2GB RAM and 2 died. I'm a little worried tbh. I'm running an E8400 [2x3.00GHz], ATi 4870 HD w/ 1GB VRAM otherwise so they'll be fine. [Decent enough, not the latest system but it does what I need it to do and hasn't refused to play any games yet. :) ]

on my laptop, my graphics.

My desktop, probably the RAM, it's lower speed DDR2 ECC. The processors are 4 Years old but they're Xeon 2.8GHz.

I'll replace the CPU soon-ish.
Been with me a long time, was super expensive once :p

8 GB DDR3, cushy high end SSD, new GPU... for the rest I'm good. ;)

my noobie ATI Radeon HD 4650. It can run almost all games, but for Bad Company 2, it lags a bit when someone smokes or tank explode (on low quality).
Everything else is fine.

This is another one of those threads where the answer is totally ambigious and depends on what you want to accomplish at a certain time.

You might as well have asked what the best form of transportation is. I can tell you then that if i plan to travel long distance, I'll take the plane, train or car. If i want to travel a few kilometers, I'll just grab public transportation. I want to get in better shape or not pay anything, I'll run or take my rollerskates/bike. If i hate getting wet, I'll pick the car when it's raining etc. etc.
It's not ambiguous at all. You have a PC? What part if it is dragging down YOUR experience?
When i boot my PC, the boot time (especially for loading background tasks) is dragging down my experience, in which case the weak link is my hard drive setup (no RAID, no SSD).

When i play PC games, graphics can't always be set to highest, so thats my video card dragging down my experience.

When i do chess analysis or video encoding, analysis speed is dragging down my experience, in which case more CPU power is the solution.

The question is, in fact, quite ambigious. A much better question would have been "Which part of your PC would you like to upgrade the most" (or wish you could upgrade). In that case, i would reply that i want an SSD setup.

Not to sound like a snob, but my PC is pretty balanced.

I have my OS on my SSD, with all my apps that I need. My i-5 is clocked at 3.8. I have over 2TB of space for music and games. My GPU is the 6970. I think im set for a long time before I need anything.

Note: Some one kill the captcha ads, they are bad enough without listening to some woman talk about fiber.

The fact that my PC is seven years old, based on a single core processor and still uses AGP graphics, DDR400 RAM and IDE cables.

However, it may be an old machine, but damn if it isn't great. I've yet to encounter a (DX9) game it can't play. BF3 may persuade me to invest in a new machine, but until then the old dog soldiers on.

My processor is getting a little out of date and needs to be upgraded. Also the fan is starting to go on my GPU as it is starting to get really loud.

Yeah I bought my PC in 2005 so it showing it age since last month it was making the clicking sound (which mean it's on it death bed) however it stop doing that at the moment (although I had bad up the datas).
I'm pretty much planning to get a new one once either Guild Wars 2 or Diablo 3 spec had been reveal.

RAM. I'm rocking a whole 2 gigs of DDR2. I bet none of you can match that. My computer is a beast.

Highly mediocre describes my CPU as well. Still better than my RAM.

OS, I have Windows XP, and it can't play Just Cause 2. I actually cried, and screamed and whatnot when I heard that JC2 wouldn't play on XP. I want that game. So.Frekking.Badly.

As for the rest, I am good by South Africa standards.
3GB RAM.
1,149TB storage.
512MB Nvidia GeForce something something graphics card.
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz processor.

Not great, but decent except for XP.

My system is four years old, and its bottleneck depends on the game I'm playing. In Supreme Commander, it's my processor. Two cores at 2.41Ghz are fairly insufficient for that game. For newer sandbox titles (such as the Fallouts), it's my RAM. 2GB at 800MHz makes for slow loading at times.

My CPU obviously. I would upgrade but seeing my country getting bankrupt in some time I better save the money for you know, something edible :p

My weakest link is my PSU because I ran out of money for my build. My other weak link is my HDD, it isn't bad but I could really do with an SSD to make my e-penis larger.

My PCs wonderful history starts at a corrupt computer shop i worked in. Boss was telling people they neededto replace perfectly working computers if they had even the slightest thing wrong (Like a virus).

I stole the working parts from the bin he was putting them in, so..

1GB ram and i still run every game smoothly.

But i'm still dreaming of an upgrade...
