No, y'all don't get to complain about RAM I only have 900mb of RAM so shutup about two gigs of it!
Congratulations and welcome to the world of desktops. I noticed myself that my laptop with better specs (twice the RAM and dual core CPU) couldn't handle anything near what my desktop could.Dr. Pepper Unlimited said:Right now, my weak link is my computer's video card. I've finally given up on gaming on laptops because it's insanely expensive, so I'm building a new desktop and it already blows this computer out of the water. It's not finished, but it's getting there. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can turn it into my gaming rig and this laptop can retire to music and web surfing.
Hehe, thanks. It took three laptops to realize this. I'm a slow learner I suppose. I use to use desktops, then swapped for mobility, but I'll haul my desktop around to a friend's house if it means I can build a rig 3x better for 1/3 of the cost.Yopaz said:Congratulations and welcome to the world of desktops.Dr. Pepper Unlimited said:Right now, my weak link is my computer's video card. Exactly how good is your processor? Because I've been eyeing this game for a while, but am sceptical as to whether I can run it well enough.dyre said:but the processor is highly mediocre and struggles to support The Witcher 2.
It's an i5-540M dual core @ 2.53 ghz, which I believe is just below the game's requirements. It runs smoothly only on minimal settingsCardinalPiggles said:Processor, without a doubt. I don't buy new games without demo's because I'm not usually sure if my processor can handle it.

Try a cooling pad to force that air through. Laptops aren't gaming machines to begin with and require more maintenance than a desktop to keep cool. Plus laptop heat sinks clog up with dust and hair really easily too, found that out with plenty of serviced laptops. Check the oil sinks and cooling system at least once a year.eggy32 said:The fan. It refuses to cool my laptop down.
I recently got an Acer Aspire 5735 and it over heats a lot. And when it over ehats it shuts itself down without any warning.
It's so annoying.
But apart from the fan I'd have to say the video card is the weakest part.
