I tiptoed downstairs one night to play it when I was about 5 or 6. I had watched my dad play it before.

Whenever a drill cut up Abe or a Slig shot him I would jump out of my seat.

Mortal Kombat for the Genesis. I was 8 years old. The gore was absurdly comical compared to todays standards, even in the intentionally comical M games.

I think that'd be...Mortal Kombat 2 (not UT99 or Soldier of Fortune like I previously thought) when I was 9 or something. Yes I remember the finishing moves well.

If we're counting the original Doom, then, no I wasn't, thing is, the ESRB rating system didn't really exist back then. So, the first game I played that actually had an M on the box was Unreal.

it was gears of war and i was 12 and it was my first game on xbox360 and now im 14 XD

LOL. I was playing video games before there WAS an Entertainment Software Rating Board or M-rating. And boy was there some vile $hit back then My cousin had some game (can't remember the name) that required you to fly a penis (no, I'm not kidding) and shoot sperm at... well... you, can guess... and avoid incoming contraceptives.

I think the first M game I owned was Metal Gear Solid. First played was probably mortal combat or some game like that.

And no I wasn't 18, but use to watch Alien/Aliens with my dear ol' dad when I was like 8, so any damage was already done (plus my parents thought all that junk about video games turning people into murderers was crap).

May have been Mortal Kombat at one of my friend's house, but I'm not sure. The first M rated game I can remember playing was GTA 3. I was, literally, the first kid on the block to have it, so all of my friends stopped by to play it. And we were all 10. And we didn't wind up going on a killing spree. Take that Jack Thompson!

I'm still under 18, bought two 18 rated games last week, buying two more this week. First one played was... probably... Condemned. Yeah, that was a bad idea, I didn't want to play much of it though. First owned was Dead Rising.

My first M rated game was also the first game I've ever played.
MORTAL KOMBAAAAAAT!!!!
I don't even remember what age I was.
I still think its funny how I had every game, and in almost every game I had no damn idea how to do the fatalities.
I think the only one I did was Sub-Zero's Hira'Kiri.
