Automatic. They're useful at any range and easy to use.

I actually prefer pistol/magnum type guns, but it's a shame pistols become so weak as the game goes on. And magnums are impossible to find ammo for.

In reality you get the problems of jamming, the barrel getting too hot/dirty and of course, the dreaded recoil. But most of all; the rapid drain on ammo supplies.
In games these are generally not a problem tho, and I do like to use em
But in games and reality I do really gravitate to Sniping in the end

Also, not in the thread, but booby traps make a Snipers favorite secondary weapon... Bring on them Claymore mines

Meh that wouldn't really fit. I can't imagine Claymores being carried in their hand ALL the time. This if for those times where you have a default weapon.

Shotguns, because in horror games, things have a tendency to pop out of nowhere and land right in front of me.

I have to go with sniper. There is absolutely nothing more enjoyable to me (in gaming ;p) than dominating everything and everyone in my line of sight. Getting up close and personal is just another (fun) challenge with a sniper. Second would be melee, knifing is too much fun.

I would use large staff like object there are always plenty around can be thrown in a pinch and can be made into a spear with a sharp object and some glue plus you can stab someone in the eye from up to 8 feet away

I prefer the semi-auto rifle. It saves ammo and packs a killer punch. M1 Garand is my top choice.

Pistols ftw, in any game where I can use a pistol I use it, dual weilding, single handed or sniping in CoD. I love pistol and hand guns of all sorts. (Plasma pistol included)

Pistols. Revolvers are my favourite but most games either don't have them or rarely provide ammo.
Special mention to the katana in Perfect Dark Zero. I played that game with my ex-boyfriend and refused to use any other weapon after that.

You mean 6-8 barrels, right? I prefer Assault Rifles/SMGs for portability, ammo is easy to find, and you can pick 'em off real close or at a mid-range.

I know Claymore's can't be a main weapon. But aside from the Sniper rifle as my main I will carry them whenever possible in a game. They just fit so snugly against your torso when crawling through the jungle dirt.

All this talk about weapons get's me hyped up, so tis a good topic you've made

What's the difference between an automatic weapon and a special auto/semi?

Any way I'd pick 'superweapon', meaning all of the above, since any weapon is "super" when things are trying to kill you.
