Sniper rifle. I like shooting from a distance, means that I'm safer. And I like to sneak and pick them one by one like wooden ducks.

Pistols, there basic and everyone gets pissed at you when you shoot them in the head at a farther range then a sniper rifle.
Cops and Robbers in Halo was so fun because everyone would piss at my deadly accuracy/usage-of-the-aim-button.

What's the difference between an automatic weapon and a special auto/semi?

Any way I'd pick 'superweapon', meaning all of the above, since any weapon is "super" when things are trying to kill you.
SuperWeapon means things like the BFG.

And special autos/semis would be pumped up regular ones, like the magnum for semi, (can't think of one for auto.)

EDIT: Pistols aren't that super against a Big Daddy.

When the option is available I like to use an Assault Rifle with a scope and the selector switch on semi-automatic - still has a faster cycle time than most sniper rifles and most games don't make a big distinction in accuracy.

A minigun. No one is safe from 3 spinnin' barrels of sheer awesome.
You mean 6-8 barrels, right? I prefer Assault Rifles/SMGs for portability, ammo is easy to find, and you can pick 'em off real close or at a mid-range.
I would, but 3 barrels are lighter and more portable. Either way, it's a minigun. How can you go wrong with that?

Automatic weapons. They are efficient and don't need perfect accuracy.

A bit of an odd choice, but I prefer ballistic weapons. Grenade launchers, in particular, but I'll even take mortars and other stuff on occasion. Once I've had a chance to get used to the weapon, I actually find it much easier to guestimate a trajectory and let the explosive do the work than to try and follow a target with a point-and-click weapon, especially if the target is moving quickly. Give me a pistol or other light weapon for when my ammo inevitably runs out, and I'm a happy camper.

Usually assault rifle of some type, but usually whatever I'm feeling. I alternate between Spawn Camping Fucktard, Rushing Solider, Sneaky Ninja Spy.

I tend to carry a shotgun if I'm playing a horror game, or if I'm in a confined space in an FPS. No matter how startled you are, a spray of buckshot will usually hit the target.

Depends on the game,
If it's a game like Bioshock or Half-life 2 where I can take loads of damage, I run up and shotgun the hell outa 'em
Most other games I prefer automatic weapons.

I'd go with a nice, compact, good old sub machine gun. Either that or a carbine. The AK-74u, MP5, or Kriss .45 would be my choice. Upon extended thought, the Kriss, definitely. It chambers a .45 caliber and has less recoil than most SMG's.

semi-automatic weapon, i even designed my own semi-automatic crossbow for fantasy situations.
if it takes you more than three shots to kill something you aren't aiming right. my secondary is always melee. i've head-stabbed more people in CoD than anyone else i know.
it's al about ammo efficency, you never know when you'll get more, so use it wisely.
