Although in some particular games I use pistols more often.

That is the best made gun in existence.. its bullets per second is amazing with no recoil. I totally agree, +friend!... why aren't sub-machineguns on the list anyways?

how about a fully automatic 12gauge shotgun that can also shoot mini rockets and have 0 recoil?

Generally assault rifles. I like they're general all around use. They allow you to control a battle by giving you a wide range to play in and a good mix of accuracy and damage that though not the most lethal can be used to damage or control an opponent from any range. The BR in Halo 3 is my all time favorite weapon, and it basically endowes my favourite things in a weapon and compliments my playing style perfectly.

Automatics/assault rifles all the way. They deal rapid damage, at a rapid speed. Stealth is for the weak.

In Bioshock, though, I typically used my upgraded wrench (upgraded with tonics like Wrench Jockey) to dispatch regular Splicers left and right, to save on ammo. Why take out Mooks with a shotgun when you can save those shells for a Big Daddy or Level Boss?

i'd combine my martial arts-experience with melee weapons. That way the choice to end or spare lives would be much more of a choice compared to modern long range-weapons.

Actually you have a better chance of just injuring someone with a ranged weapon (gun),. Martial arts put with melee weapons is a very dangerous combination my friend, an example would be if you had nun-chuks, an efficient blow to the head would cause brain trauma and would eventually lead to death, however if you ask me, guns and melee weapons are equally dangerous, both could kill and both could just injure.

You see,its not what you use to do it with that counts, its HOW you do it

If the game doesn't have shotguns, then I'll just use a sniper. I'm good with a sniper.

And if all else fails, power weapons. I rarely use machine guns except in Crackdown.
