Staying calm... you wouldnt believe how freaked out people get when someone is just having a calm conversation while murdering the other team, especially if there are a bunch of angry doodz as there often is on FPS games.

They are Haseo's Dual Guns as you can see in his hands

Im like obsessed with .hack//GU, however you dont get the guns till vol. 3
but you do also have dual knives, broadsword, and a scythe

Generally assault rifles. I like they're general all around use. They allow you to control a battle by giving you a wide range to play in and a good mix of accuracy and damage that though not the most lethal can be used to damage or control an opponent from any range. The BR in Halo 3 is my all time favorite weapon, and it basically endowes my favourite things in a weapon and compliments my playing style perfectly.

Automatics/assault rifles all the way. They deal rapid damage, at a rapid speed. Stealth is for the weak.

In Bioshock, though, I typically used my upgraded wrench (upgraded with tonics like Wrench Jockey) to dispatch regular Splicers left and right, to save on ammo. Why take out Mooks with a shotgun when you can save those shells for a Big Daddy or Level Boss?
