Hmm, I'd go with just regular singing, however, I do listen to bands like Lamb of God, O.M.T Killswitch Engage. And right now I've been listening to Gallows, who I suppose would be classed as shouting. But right now my favourite bands are Black Stone Cherry, Breed 77 and The Hives, and that's all just singing.

Lately I've had a thing for the generic female punk rock singer (soft female singing over hard instrumentals) as well as nightwish like vocals. Overall, because I listen to so many different genres of music it's hard to pick a definative favorite, I guess generally just singing as that's the broadest and therefore most listened to (includes all old rock/heavy metal, most thrash metal, pop/punk, some alternative etc).

Is the screaming option 'Screamo'-style or Mick Jagger/Steven Tyler-style? I also like instrumenral (orchestral pop and virtuoso rock)

I listen to alot of electronic music. So I like the voacals to compliment the instruments not the instruments complimenting the vocals like in most music.

I would classify Steven Tyler's "screaming" as wailing. And it is awesome...

What does the OP mean by hard singing?

Metal screaming and growling is cool, but I think it works best if combined with clear singing. Listen to Mudvayne, you'll see what I mean.

Opeth does a great job of it, too. They're a little more growly than melodic, though.

Singing, Growling and Rapping.

Just not at the same time.. That would be gross...

Singing. My favourite vocalists are Eddie Vedder (uses a lot of growls anyway) Matt Bellamy, Maynard James Keenan (rarely growls/screams type thing, see 'ticks and leeches' and 'hush'), Robert Plant, Layne Staley and David Draiman, who is the exception as he does a lot of growls. I'm actually into a fair bit of screamo music as well though. Zach De La Rocha deserves an honourable mention as he's the best damn rapper I know.
