Depends on a lot of factors. How dirty are my shoes, how soon am I going out again, which shoes am I wearing at the moment, how cold is the floor, et cetera. Can't really give a definitive answer here.

I work on my feet. Even though I love my bright pink rainbow runners, they usually come off as soon as I get inside!

For the most part, I change my footwear once I step in the door: into slippers or flipflops depending on season.

Hell, I'm so lazy when it comes to footwear, I pre-tie the laces on my trainers/sneakers so I just need to slip my feet in/out (even do that with my proper interview/formal occasion shoes).

Regardless of the type of shoe I was wearing, I generally always take them off when I get in. If I'm wearing high heels, they definitely have to come off straight away due to living in a house with hard wood floors (they potentially damage the floors, but also the noise is fuck annoying).
I also take my shoes off at work during my evening shifts and frolic barefoot.

I do wear slippers around the house in winter though, lest my tootsies get cold XD

In Sweden the general consensus is to take the shoes off at the door.
Which I can't really fault at all. It keeps the house clean(er), and having them on the whole time would just make my feet too warm for me to bear with.
So, yeah...

Shoes are taken off immediately once I get home. Socks on the other hand, stay on for a while because they're warm and most of my floors are cold.

Nope. I never have them on in the house. Apart from dragging in dirt and stuff, I'm more comfortable with them off.

Usually I take them off when I realise I'm still wearing them, which of course depends entirely on the shoe. My trainers usually last longer than my stupendously pretty ones, due to variable comfort levels involved.

As long as they're not caked in mud or it's been raining outside... my cheap wood floor doesn't take to moisture very well.

I used to take them off every time when I was living in Russia... it's just a cultural thing there, that they put on slippers, and have house-slippers for guests known as Tapki.

Take 'em off as soon as I get home. Oftentimes will take them off when I'm sitting at my desk at work, though I put them back on whenever I have to get up and walk around. But I pretty much kick my shoes off at the door and then carry them back to my closet. The only exception are occasionally slippers or breathy running shoes, but I usually take them off too.

Ordinarily I would take my shoes off immediately after entering my home. Having been living in student accommodation for the past year however, I no longer trust the floor to be sufficiently clean. So in the pursuit of not coating my socks with the leftovers of whatever drunken antics my lovely flatmates have gotten up to recently, I tend to wear my shoes constantly until I no longer have any need to leave my room before I go to bed.

I hate shoes, so I wear them as little as possible at home.

Off topic, am I the only one that has NOPE.avi running through his head because of OP's avatar?

This ^^

Extra text to prevent moderator wrath. Your wasting your time so please do feel free to stop reading the rest of this complete and under pointless sentence consisting of absolutely fuck all, yet I continue to rant on about how stupid and pointless this sentence is. Hopefully your still reading, good. If you have made it all this way you should know you have gained nothing apart from me myself and I taking away a little bit of your time. If your the guy I replied to I would feel stupid if I were reading this too. Hell I even feel stupid writing all of this, but it's mainly because I'm at work and have nothing better to do, I'm leaving my job soon, it bores the fuck out of me. I had a sudden epiphany earlier that I do not want to work in IT, or work with customers that have no interest in my interests. I'm 18 and I haven't really a clue what I want to do with my life. I need to win the lottery. Is anyone reading this a generous millionaire? I need money. I had my iPhone stolen the other day, I felt like I lost a limb. I have no money for games neither, until the end of this month that is. Well if you've read all of that above, you can decide for yourself whether or not you wasted your time. I honestly have no idea why I continued to chat bollocks but there ya' go. Apologies.

In Sweden its custom to ALWAYS remove shoes when you get inside someones home. To not do so is extremely rude, on about the same level as if you'd punch their mother in the face and sexually harass their cat.
