I do believe that the country of Switzerland has a very low violent crime rate compared to other European countries, and their government issues assault rifles to households...Luftwaffles said:Owning a firearm for self defense is a silly thing. Sorry, let me reword my statement. To obtain a firearms one must have a license. One must have a valid reason to own a firearm(s), and many countries don't accept "for self defense" as a valid reason.MagicMouse said:I do believe that the country of Switzerland has a very low violent crime rate compared to other European countries, and their government issues assault rifles to households...Luftwaffles said:Owning a firearm for self defense is a silly thing. Please, if you have a "valid reason" please state it, instead of just saying that you do. It annoys me when people don't do research on subjects, but act as if they know whats really going on.

Guns are powerful tools that have many purposes, it is the wielder that decides how to use it. That being said, the only thing that government restrictions on guns do is keep guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens. Criminals don't care about breaking gun laws.

Don't thank me, thank Heinlein.AllLagNoFrag said:The only problem with guns are the people who wield them unresponsibly. The blame should not be on guns but, the person who decided to make wrong choices with them. What difference would it make if a murderer killed a person with a gun or a knife?
