Poll: Your weapon of chice

Its hard not to walk away from the assault rifles. Specially if it is heavily modifiable because then I can slap a grenade launcher on it, shotgun, ironsights or low powered scope, silencer for stealth kills, and who needs fireballs when you can have incendiary rounds which are much faster?

Plus I can also have a trusty bayonet.

However, if the zombie apocalypse or vampire apocalypse ever comes I am definitely becoming some weird cross between a Catholic Priest and some sort of fighting monk. Holy water and blades for the win!

magic if it's available, because i'm playing a game who cares if it's realistic i want spell-shields and arcane lightning

if it has to be a weapon in a pc game, i pick the assault rifle because it's just the best all round weapon you can snipe if you have a scope on it, you can spray, you can go single shot
( unless its mass effect in which case just go afk and let your squad kill things because the weapons suck ass )

i'd never pick the warrior type unless it was the only thing available

and as the Ancient Greeks put it, bows are honour-less and wielded by weaklings even though they respect their effectiveness

Cos at heart I'm basically a Red Mage regardless of video game, it's always a combo of magic and ranged weaponary, and by that I mean, bows, in various flavours of awesome for me. Plus with some nice elemental arrors (heck, I wish minecraft had elemental arrors in game and I wouldn't have to faff about with mods to get them).

For guns, I love using a single pistol revolver. Revolver kills in FPSs are always my favourite.
For blades, I always go for the polearm. Spears are badass, especially in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
For Magic, I'll stick to either healing or summoning. I love summoning monsters or undead to beat the enemy.

I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything as I read that. Oh, my, I would have to buy a whole new laptop. That's hilarious. What was the teacher's reaction?

Well, she definitely didn't expect that and stood there silly for a minute and a half, before she told me that Big Friendly Giant is what she had in mind, not a weapon of bloody mayhem.

And because of you guys voting magic, something in me starts picturing My Little Pony as a violent, gory show full of fireballs and ice missiles. Why? Cause Friendship is Magic and to you obviously magic is the best mean of murder (ironically both users with a pony for a picture voted magic; guess friendship is deadly)

That would certainly bring the show up from a mediocre litte girls' cartoon to an interesting view. [/trolling]

Really, though? I didn't think of magic like that. I thought of being able to do magic in a world similar to ours, with computers and technology. I think that would be awesome.

Why I thought of magic as mean of murder was due to context. Since we are talking about "weapon of choice" and weapon being a mean of murder (or self defense, if that's how you want to put it), that's where magic = mean of murder comes from. But yeah, magic in a modern world would be pretty cool. At least you would save money on fireworks for New Year Not to mention other cool stuff to do with it. Like turn invisible or mind jack people!

Polearms, especially Halberds... but if I could use just one weapon in any and every game then I'd use a Halberd sheathed in a matter disrupting energy field with a semi-automatic .75 calibre gun attached (that fires Rocket Propelled Armour Piercing Depleted Deuterium High Explosive ammunition)...

There's something eerily awesome about controlling magic. That's my choice in most games.
