There seem to be a distinct lack of bladed melee weapons on your selection there, including the Chainsaw. I mean, you included landmines and water cannons for Zombie Killing, but no chainsaw?

Might go with the Zombie Survival Guide on this one and say the 6 inch trench spike

Shotgun or assault rifle. Both would have adequate stopping power for fast zombies, and be adequate at destroying the brains of Romero-style zombies.

Semi-automatic rifle. Only headshots kill making shotguns ineffective and automatic weapons would just waist ammo for the most part. Flamethrowers can just make things worse since now instead of zombies you have flaming zombies attacking that will take several minutes to die from the brain frying, by which point there is a good chance the zombies have already lit you on fire and eaten your cooked flesh; also, they're heavy and when zombies are around speed is your best friend because zombies are slow and cumbersome.

Sometimes you want to save ammo or avoid making noise so a shotgun would be my choice since you can use it as a club. Ideally I would probably want a shotgun, a sniper rifle and a steel mace(like a medieval one).

Assault Rifle is the best option, if you're talking about single-shot types like the M21 or M1 Garand. Otherwise, full-auto weapons would suck.

Chainsaws suck. Large Fuel Consumption + Heavy + High Chance Of Injuring Yourself = Suck

Cane swords are pretty much the best option ever, aside from maybe a cane shotgun. Or a cane that's reinforced with some metal that makes it usable as a mace.

I'll pick an assault rifle, since one good shot to the head or upper torso should totally waste a zombie, but I only picked it because there's no choice for rifles, since realistically I'd just pick up my .45 winchester and pop some undead heads.
