Depending on your method, ghouls can be considered a kind of zombie.

Ghoul by radiation?

The feral ghouls (from Fallout, I'm assuming) can most definitely be considered zombies.

There's also magical ghouls, the kind you get when (in some folklore) a vampire attempts to convert a non-virgin. There's also the mythical necromancer resurrection ghoul, and the various other interpretations by authors.

The original ghoul was something like a demon, though, and usually crept around burial grounds. It tended to feed on both the living and the dead.

Zombies, i mean, come on, they may not have individuality, intelligence, self control, or self consciousness, but they are a perfect species, all they do is propogate their race, and they do it SO WELL, that they become the dominant species of the planet

I myself prefer Vampyres, just not the ones of the Twilight variety. If I want a Vamp, I want a creature of the night that goes around sucking blood and destroying things. Not some sparkly, Volvo driving, wussy manpyre who could probably make a gay pride parade break out just by walking down the street in broad daylight and could get a job as a disco ball.

But I do see your point on Zombies though. They could totally eat your brain and turn you into one of the raging horde that you were just trying to kill. So, I guess I could go either way on the matter.

Hard to say. Vampires can be immortal badasses who could destroy you with a mere glance, or they can burn your eyes out with their ability to sparkle like a damn star. Zombies though, they just don't stop coming no matter what, and sooner or later they're going to fucking eat you and your family.

Gonna have to go with zombies.
