I hate it. I never even watched it (except that horrible intro song) and I still hate it. I guess actual fans of the show are drowned by the "LULZ BRONIES WE SO SPECIAL WE LOVE & TOLERATE YOU FOREVER".
As a fan, I'll just say it took me a season and a half before I could even sit through the damn intro song. It's sickeningly girly. Also, I'm not asking you to watch it, but I'd just like to point out you look a little judgmental saying you hate it when you admit to not watching it. Again, I'm not saying you should watch it, I'm not THAT kind of fan, just that it's kinda' a d*ck move.
OT: Up until a few months ago I was planning to take A-Level Science and Maths, which I was good at I guess, but I wasn't passionate about it. I'd always loved animating, and when I discovered the show it rekindled my love for cartoons and kid's shows and changed my college course to fit a career in animation.
Also, I'm barely ever angry or upset anymore.

I agree, like the author of a fanfic I saw today. It's called "Nicholas Cage's Adventures in Equestria". Let's just say I read it, and had a BIG laugh.

The intro theme is rather horrible, true. However, you're saying this all as an ignorant buffoon. I can understand disliking the fans, they're rather eccentric at times, but you won't even try out the show to see if you're right or not? Are you scared you'll be wrong? How would you like it if I said I hated something you liked without even trying it out (on the grounds that we were rather good friends)? You'd want me to try it out, no? All I've really seen from bronies is the want for someone to educate themselves of the show before casting judgement.

Captcha: How quaint

Seems that Captcha agrees.

Fair enough, maybe I'm a bit rude, but still.. All those fans, and I don't mean FANS, I mean crazy obsessed people who have to shove their ponies down my throat so hard I start having nightmares about them... just gets to me. I can't watch it without thinking about all those "fans", and that spoils the whole experience.
Totally agree, THOSE kind of fans give the rest of us, the silent majority as it were, a bad name.

So how have ponies affected your life? Have you held the line, staying pony free? Or have you, like me, completely given up and let the ponies wash over you, consuming you into the herd, so now it takes up almost all your free time and money?
Here we have an example of why I'll never understand bronies and maintain a distance of at least 30 feet at all times.

You people scare me a little.

It happened, it was a thing, and in the end I didn't care. I did sort of hate the show for a bit, but then I realized that nothing is going to change if I have some near-pointless hate for a group that seems harmless and is dedicated to what it's doing.

It's a music term: "a group of (typically three or more) notes sounded together, as a basis of harmony." However much you like Adventure Time, the show did not hit you with a rope. Not even if you're into that sort of thing.

Oh, a new page. My, this thread is growing rather quickly. I wonder if that's a good thing.

I suppose I should add that the show has rekindled my interest in drawing, as well as getting me interested in animation. I'm planning on taking some animation classes thanks to the show, so I guess it has affected my life in some way.

Ah, yes. Those fans. They might be numerous, but they are by far the minority. You shouldn't let that affect your entire opinion on the show. I'm not saying you will definitely enjoy it, the shows not for everyone, but i think its always best to have an educated opinion on the matter, eh?

Yes, those loud obnoxious fans annoy the rest of us just as much as they annoy you.

Also, it took a good while for me to get used to the intro theme. It's by far the girliest bit of the show.

Its a good thing as long as it stays cordial, which it has so far.

Edit: I apologize for the double post.

You should be apologizing for that pun...

I'd rather not. I remember a time when no one accepted that term, and anyone who used it would be quickly informed that "brony" is a gender-neutral word. I miss those days.

I kind of wish I hadn't watched the episodes so many times. Watched every episode in both seasons at least 3 times each (more for the really good ones) so I'm kind of burned out on the existing episodes. It's gonna be a long wait for season 3.

At least the brony community puts out quality fan work on a regular basis. That will have to do while I wait. I have already read all the way through Fallout: Equestria.

That's exactly the reason I haven't re-watched any of season 2 yet at all. (Except for the finale, and come on, that finale was awesome.) I learned my lesson from last year.

Pun? Pun? What pun? *clueless*

Also, I thought "pegasister" still wasn't all that accepted. Haven't been keeping up on that whole debate.

Imho, its really not that big of a deal.

What the fuck is so great about this show? Yeah, it's funny, from time to time. A good 75% of the time it's god awful 5 year old pandering.
And that's what wrong with the brony community. It's a neat show, and I think it's gravy that you like it.But a 36 year old friend of mine stood in line for two hours to get the autograph of a lady who did a voice for the show, a show made for preteen girls.

The general lack of understanding of what the brony community worships is why we nerds can't have nice things.
what if i told you.....that John De Lancie, who played Q from star trek generations and that one guy in the Assassin's creed series, voice acted for Discord in season 2?

these voice actors do a LOT more than My little pony. Tara strong, for example, has played what seems like hundreds of characters from a lot of our favorite shows like
-Fairly odd parents
-Powerpuff Girls
-Avatar: the Last airbender
-Drawn Together
-Transformers Animated
-Chowder
-Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
-Wolverine and the X-Men
-Ben 10
-The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy
-Teen Titans
-The New Batman Adventures
-X-Men (1993-1997)
and a shit load more
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0152839/

the other voice actors on the show also have outstanding resumes, the voice of applejack and rainbow dash, Ashleigh Ball, even has her own band. so as you can see, these are VERY talented people, an autograph from any of them would be AWESOME.

I don't care if you're not a brony, tara strong voiced batgirl, and is voicing her again for Lauren Faust's "Super Best Friends Forever". you should want her autograph for that alone, but if you didn't like batman then there's something wrong with you.

Well, I love the show and the community, but I haven't shelled any cash for any figurines... though if an official Derpy figure is released...

I was linked to a news story about a mod for Skyrim that replaced all the Dragons with Fluttershy. This mod also altered their roars to play Fluttershy's "yay". The mod sourced this clip for said cheer:

That clip made me instinctively grin. It wasn't: "Oh yeah, that was quite amusing. *grin*", it was more: "Louder. Yay. Louder! Yay! LOUDER! *intake* Yay!...too loud? *grin*" It was a few more months before I took my first foray into the show though, as the old "curiosity vs scepticism" battle had to play out in my head. But once I watched the first few episodes, I couldn't stop, it was just too much fun. ^^

The only possible effect it has had on my life though, is it may have been the catalyst for re-igniting my passion for writing. Maybe. If I can push past this block I have.

In short: MLP: FiM is great fun to watch and a damn good show. So awesome! /)^3^(\

I had corrected TizzytheTormentor's use of "cord" to "chord", and you used the word "cordial". I assumed it was intentional.

I suppose the show had given me a better outlook at what being a friend is especially to my closest friends. No I'm not taking the friendship report as a literal lesson to follow by but as a reminder on how I treat my friends and others better.
