Well, now I eagerly await even more my chance to completely screw my friends over in Portal co-op.
It's not about what they took from other games. I would never say WoW was the first to do most of what makes it an MMO, but look at everything it's done and rehauled. There are quite a few reasons it's still around and still picking up players. it pretty much single-handedly killed the subscription-based business model to the point where other games have to go free-to-play just to make any money, if they don't collapse after 2-3 years for lack of focus and interest.AC10 said:

How many other MMOs have bothered spending the equivalent of two expansions of design effort/budget just to revamp content that's been around for 6 years? Which other MMOs actively try to keep a decade-old engine as near to aesthetically perfect as possible, while still also dedicating itself to staying available to outdated tech as possible? My point is that WoW is a *good* product whether you think so or not; even if you DON'T judge it by its own merits as a pillar of the game industry, it's been extremely successful in the only purpose an MMO has - to keep its players paying. Why else do other MMOs have such a hard time getting in the door?

Portal 2 is sounding better by the minute! While this isn't gameplay, it's good to see how much personality Valve are trying to inject into this much anticipated sequel!
JB is targeted at a very specific niche, one that you're not part of (Truthfully, JB doesn't suck. At all.). WoW has the same response from people who don't care for fantasy RPGs, but their opinion is irrelevant, as they never targeted them in the first place. The target audience have all stood up and said "IT'S AMAZING!!!!" so therefore, it is a good game. Just like JB is a good artist. (Oh, yes I did!)AC10 said:

Hype is not a thing that equals bad games either. The Dark Knight was hyped like hell but it still delivered. As for Portal 2 it looks like it good very well be a good game as it appears to be doing exactly what a sequel should do i.e take the good stuff from the first game and build upon it.ionveau said:

While I like this trailer I feel the idea that these bots are friends was established in a previous co-op trailer. It does at least give them a bit more personality though.
