Of course they are still working 'on' Episode 3. They put all the design documents and scripts under the carpet years ago.DTWolfwood said:isn't this still all SPECULATION?
They are 'still' working on Episode 3...hard to type and keep a straight face. XD
You not so crazy about this multiplayer take over either? I thought I was alone.Sober Thal said:cough cough
Yeah. I'm loving Valve more and more now. Thanks for caring so much. /sarcasm
EDIT: I want to type really nasty words here... really nasty.
You sure this might not be out of context. Could it be they meant "isolated" as in no other humanoid characters to interact with? Isolated as in a character trapped in an environment where they are alone?Tom Goldman said:"Portal 2 will probably be Valve's last game with an isolated single-player experience."
to be fair however I think that any game Valve makes will be good....just multiplayer and therefore not really for me unfortunatleyFrotality said:valve is now soaring along its jet ski about to jump the shark....all it will take is some official word.
SERIOUSLY hope this is BS. if all they mean is steam connectivity or something minor like that then fine, but if the superjesus of gaming that is valve has fallen into the same narrow-minded idea that single-player games are inherently inferior that plagues the industry....i quit. if valve themselves are being pulled into the "everything must have multiplayer to be marketable" follow the leader bullshit instead of innovating against it as theyve always done.... i'll take up cult movie collection or something, at least that hobby doesnt continually punch me in the balls with disappointing development after disappointing development.
might as well err on the side of caution and start looking for copies of manos the hands of fate i suppose.
hmmm I doubt it "isolated without other epople" isnt exactly a big theme...well you do spend alot of time in Half life aloneorangecharger said:You sure this might not be out of context. My thoughts are the quote is referring that it might be the last Portal title Valve creates with an isolated character single player experience. Time will tell on who is right. I won't buy another Valve title if my only option to play is with 12 year old ear-rapists. It would seem odd to me that a company would close the door on a gaming type that put them on the map. It's sort of like Ferrari saying they aren't going to build anymore sports cars.Vault101 said:hmmm I doubt it "isolated without other epople" isnt exactly a big theme...well you do spend alot of time in Half life aloneorangecharger said:You sure this might not be out of context. but my point is its like saying "we wont be making any games whre your charachter is alone all the time" I mean that doesnt make much sense
Im guess co-op is going to be a big thing
for the single player crowd thats not always a game killer, take saints row 2 for example
then theres borderlands...great game if only it wasnt dull for SP
I mean I see them going down a left 4 dead route I guess
but really this article isnt worth taking seriously at allorangecharger said:My thoughts are the quote is referring that it might be the last Portal title Valve creates with an isolated character single player experience.
