How bout you wait 5 days for the game. Why must you know everything beforehand? What happened to people wanting to be surprised by a game and its awesomness?

Some type of L4D reference. Like a dead guy with a gun laying on a generator ;)
Or 'No Zombine is safe from Chigago Ted'?
They sure as hell aren't.
Ohai Chicago Ted.

More speculation: Cave Song will not be in the ending, it'll be heard during gameplay. Possibly if/when Cave Johnson is introduced, going insane, or just while he's talking to you. It may be heard on one of the radios.

It's called hype. Been a staple of media forever as far as I know.

Though I've no concrete proof, I'm fairly sure the nobility of Elizabethan England would speculate on the nature of Shakespeare's newest plays prior to their official performance, after he became properly.

We're well within our right.

I'll be honest, I hope to hell they have a ton of prerecorded commercials made by him that you can find. You know, going in behind some offices, and find a projector, hit use, and a new commercial starts playing. Cave Johnson is just hilarious to me.

Oh god, I'd love that xD

Sounds almost like something out of Bioshock, the ads were one of my favorite parts of the games. I've already heard his thing about mantis men, I'm really hoping they do something with the giant chickens.

The sooner people get over the need for boss fights (essentially the only thing in gaming that hasn't evolved somewhat in the past 30 years) the better.
What's wrong with boss fights? Usually having to focus on one really powerful enemy is extremely different from facing popcorn threats.

Glados wasn't a real boss fight anyway.

ok normally i would agree with you right there, but then again this is a sequel, and sequels do have a tendency to be shit, but then again this is a Valve game but still doesn't mean its immune to the problems of sequels.

Its because usually boss fights follow a similar formula to that of the Joker in Arkham Asylum. They don't really suit the narrative (I won't spoil it if you haven't played it - but you'll get about halfway through, realise exactly what's going to happen for the final fight, and hope to god that it doesn't... which it does), they're repetitive, dull, formulaic, and they often poo in the face of everything you've learnt across the game.

I get what you're saying: how do you deal with a fulfilling climax to a game if the Big Bad is the same as everyone else? I think the answer should start with asking how they can fit it into the narrative, and how they can do something different with that. In RPGs you can get away with it, given the nature of the genre.

In something like Uncharted 2 though, the two human boss fights (the helicopter is actually done quite well) are shit, although I suppose they earn points on the final one by making it fit the narrative and the character.

As for Glados, why wasn't it a real boss fight? She's the main antagonist, and you have to repeat the same few actions over and over to stop her within a set amount of time. Those are some primary traits of a boss fight. Alright, it wasn't particularly difficult, and she doesn't fight you directly, but it still hits a lot of the points.

Maybe she doesn't fully qualify, but I get the feeling the encounter was born of the necessity. Although, like Uncharted 2, it does at least fit the narrative/character.

OT: Boss fights? God fucking no. The Glados fight was the weakest part of Portal.

Opinions. They can be different. Don't say it like it's something they need to "get over".
It is something they need to get over. And since that's something said by me, as my opinion, get over it.

When I, say, make up a statistic and try to pass it off as real in order to support my opinion on whatever the statistic relates to, then you can call me up on it.

For now, I'll just assume everyone else has the capacity to realise that something said by me, concerning something that isn't factual, is my opinion.
I do have the capacity to realize that you just insulted a bunch of people for not agreeing with you.
Unless you are a very sensitive soul, then no I didn't. I insulted you in the post afterwards perhaps, but that's it.

If you'll notice, the guy above voiced his own opinion back quite happily.

I speculate that people will say it's the greatest thing ever, I'll think it's alright but not my favourite game and many mean remarks will be made about my choice of gaming platform and my mother. Or immediately after posting this someone will appear at my door claiming to be from the government depopulation program.
