I just heard that they;re writing another Portal game... how do you think they can continue the story?
What about a prequel?Pandalisk said:No idea, they'll think of something, but still if they make another portal game it will be sweet!,hopefully the computer...gladius? will be back, but shes just a heavily damaged computer now, also probably heavily retarded

I don't think you need one of those, but you should still give it a shot, its pretty good.Mookie_Magnus said:Welcome to the Escapist!
I seriously hope so. Although I should probably get the first Portal game...I've never played it.

Or maybe the player is outside in a world being overrun by robotic overlords. Or in space. Or a tub of jelly.Pandalisk said:No idea, they'll think of something, but still if they make another portal game it will be sweet!,hopefully the computer...gladius? will be back, but shes just a heavily damaged computer now, also probably heavily retarded
There wasn't much plot anyway, at least none that i could see, i just steam rolled through, the plot twist was the CAKE BEING A LIE!.. ugh i tire of that now..Sparrow Tag said:Nah. Night Vision. Wink wink.Pandalisk said:is that the RROD in 117's helmet i see?
More on topic, a Portal sequel is do-able and nonetheless, awesome. The level designs should be easy. They'll bump up the looks no doubt. Give it more of a polished feel. Maybe release some more user interactive content along with it, it'll go great.
The storyline however is what attracts most people to the game, so who knows? If they cock that element of it up the fan boys will get nasty. It'll be a great game no doubt though.
Not bad thinking there, but basically it would be the same plot but you'd be one of the characters that died no? i think it can only go forward!Apathetic Flamingo said:What about a prequel?Pandalisk said:No idea, they'll think of something, but still if they make another portal game it will be sweet!,hopefully the computer...gladius? will be back, but shes just a heavily damaged computer now, also probably heavily retarded

At the end of the day there are, off the top of my sleep addled brain, 50 odd possibilities for a continuation, and about the same for a prequel - and considering how revolutionary portal itself was, I doubt they'll stick to the norm.
I would like to see patrolling gun bots though.
This. Except I think portal happens before Gordon wakes up in his dystropian future. Perhaps the next portal will feature Chell exploring a world that has only recently fallen to the combine and features a backstory for the Borealis.clicketycrack said:Portal is obviously set in the same universe as halflife so youre probably going to have to fight combine since the first game ended with you landing in a parking lot outside. Who knows, maybe you'll meet up with Gordon Freeman at some point.
SWEET JESUS! We might find Chell frozen in the ice in episode 3!Twilight_guy said:This. Except I think portal happens before Gordon wakes up in his dystropian future. Or we might find a skeleton of a long dead crewwoman who has a portal gun.clicketycrack said:SWEET JESUS! We might find Chell frozen in the ice in episode 3!Twilight_guy said:This. Well, actually, there is a plot, since we know it's set in the same universe as Half Life.Gitsnik said:Or maybe the player is outside in a world being overrun by robotic overlords. Or in space. Dude. Genius. I bet Valve was planning this the whole time, finding a way to give us the backstory with out someone explaining it to Gordon in a long winded cutscene. Brilliant.Twilight_guy said:This. Except I think portal happens before Gordon wakes up in his dystropian future. True. And after the initial elation of hearing GLaDOS's voice, I'd be pissed beyond measure. Luckily, Valve doesn't tend to do that sort of thing.Nova Tendril said:It better not have GLADOS in it. I see no reason for the computer to ever come back for any reason other than fan service.
