Does post count comes with status?

Does having a high post count make you higher in the ranks of the escapists, where as people like me with low post count have to fetch your slippers and pipe?

I don't think so. It is the quality of a post that matters not the quantity of posts a member has.

high postcounts just increase your chances of being a known member of the community.

Most people really don't give a toss about post count. To associate it with being a good poster is pretty foolish. I mean look at me; my post count is pretty high and I definitely wouldn't consider my posts to be a bastion of intellect. Though a higher post count usually means you spend more time with the community, hence people pay more attention to your opinion. But that has less to do with your post count and more to do with your interactions with the community.

Yes. Bow before me =D Nah man your sweet. If people like yours posts, then your cool. If you post douchey posts like "Do you like to kill poo?" then yeah.. people will start to shut you out.

One of these threads pops up ever once in a while. You'll find that in a few months people will be asking you this very same question.

Ah the old debate of does size matter?

It's not the size of your post count but how you use it.
Although a lot of the 10,000 + post count persons do have quality posts. I figure they pick something up along the way on how to be awesome.

No post count shows the percentage of your soul the escapist owns. Poor Neonbob. His grandchildren are now soulless.

Well I notice people with a high post count more...

But it doesn't dictate my opinion of them.

Kinda this. Back before forum games and groups, a high post count means that you actually posted a lot. And the quality of they forums were (generally) a bit higher. Therefore, someone who had a high post count had posted a lot of great stuff.

Mind you, anything over 1500 posts was amazing.

A high post count means nothing.
Nothing.
Except maybe over-active typing.

I sorta use them to sort people. I use join date more than post count.
