Simple answer. No.

If you have a high post count it only shows a few things.
1. you've been on the escapist for a while.
2. Low content posts
3. Both.

I suppose it does sort of. You get regonised more, but not necessarily liked more.

Does post count comes with status?
Short answer: No.

Not so short answer: No, but surviving a decent length of time without getting banned and forging a number of connections and associations sometimes can. A high post count often comes as a side effect.

No.

But people with more posts are more well-known though.
I know you well enough considering your relatively low count. Mostly because of the avatar, and the short username.

I CAN BE A PEON?! *glimmer of hope*
If you really really want, you can be a peon, but it's not a flattering title.
'Paperboy' is not a flattering title. I'll take 'Peon' until something better comes along. Like 'Super Pirate General'
Do pirates even have Generals? I thought their highest rank would be Captain.

All the post count can do is get you more exposure and increase people's knowledge of your existence on this site

Used to, older members used to let you know it too. But they've all been banned.
Ha... yeah. I think my post count is reasonable for how long I've been here, I see people who joined around the same time have a similar amount give or take a couple hundred.

As for status, I might have status if I was less of a douche.

Kinda this. Back before forum games and groups, a high post count means that you actually posted a lot. And the quality of they forums were (generally) a bit higher. Therefore, someone who had a high post count had posted a lot of great stuff.

Mind you, anything over 1500 posts was amazing.
Yes, I remember the days. I wonder why things changed. :/
Mayb the escapist just got more popular? More popular generally means there's more spammers and trolls to flush out. Some of them lie in wait too...gathering post count....and then BAM! "Halo or MW2> lulzorz." The mods soon get them though.

Although I remember when I first went Gonzo.....ahhh, such a beautiful day...

Not really, usually just means they spend a lot of time in Forum Games and/or Groups.

It does, however, make you the target of hatred by some members.

Everyone knows people with high post counts are tossers.
The only thing that's worse is people who forget to include sources in their articles
lol, that wins for the most ridiculous probation I've ever seen. Them mods they do love to probe our pimp...

Also, Hub (can I call you Hub?), what is your avatar? I keep trying to focus on it to work it out but then I wake up an hour later with blood on my hands and a lot of guilt.

I would have to disagree. I thought your status was more because of your douche...ness...ism...ocity? Douchocity.

More posts means you post more. Some people might have a lot of high quality material, and some may just be people who pretty much spam threads or are in a lot of user groups.

I haven't got that much of a post count but I try to think before I post. I say try because I've been on Probation and Suspended before.

Post count just shows how active you are, really. Doesn't represent you or the quality of your posts. It's just a number.
