OT: Seriously I don't care about post count...except Neonbobs post count. You filthy whale nuker! :O
Furburt said:WHY DOES EVERYONE CALL ME FURBERT?!Irridium said:It seems some of the newer members tend to idolize people with higher post counts, like what they did with Furbert and Hubilub.
It says 'Furburt' for gods sakes! It's not that difficult!
/meaninglessrant.Now, that would be an achievement. Certainly, most of the posts would be meaningless shite, and at least one would probably be punishable, but still, it'd be interesting to watch.Irridium said:Quality is more important that quantity, which is why most would consider I don't post much in the almost 2 years I've been here, compared to some users who get 5000 posts in 3 days... or something like that.
As long as they are well thought out posts, you will be more respected here than anyone.Wit counts for more than you can possibly imagine(and grammar)Parellius said:I feel worthless with my meagre post-count!
They were already going to be.ottenni said:No post count shows the percentage of your soul the escapist owns. Poor Neonbob. His grandchildren are now soulless.
And therefore higher up the virtual food chain...Altorin said:high postcounts just increase your chances of being a known member of the community.
If you've got a post count lower than about 50, people tend to treat you with a bit less respect, like a kid who's just wandered into a conversation and doesn't know what's going on (In fairness, a lot of new users can behave like that, but they learn the rules pretty quickly. That, or they get banned). Past that point, your worth is determined by whether or not you've actually got something worthwhile to say. But your post count tends to correlate with how involved you are with the community, so the legenday posters are rather beloved by the rest of us. But that's because they've managed to post 20,000 or so comments without saying something dumb enough to get them banned (Because intelligent conversation just doesn't get banned here. You have to be mean-spirited, stupid, or have a slight disregard for the rules). They clearly have something to say.YouCallMeNighthawk said:Does having a high post count make you higher in the ranks of the escapists, where as people like me with low post count have to fetch your slippers and pipe?
This exposure will allow people to get some sort of opinion of you. You will be liked or hated depending on how good your posts are.Sleekgiant said:All the post count can do is get you more exposure and increase people's knowledge of your existence on this site
So I'm ruining the Escapist *gasp*Freebird. said:A high post count doesn't matter (he says while posting in this thread). Having a high post count basically means that people know your name and think you ruined The Escapist. Neither of which I want very much.
I must fully agree with you, I got my high post count in Forum GamesTheNumber1Zero said:Not really, usually just means they spend a lot of time in Forum Games and/or Groups.
It does, however, make you the target of hatred by some members.
