Post counts

Post counts don't tell you anything besides how active a person is. It doesn't matter if you are a Gonzo or an Anonymous Source, the number of posts or frequency does not matter, only the content does.

People aren't Ebaying accounts made in 2006 for seniority bonuses when it comes to dealing with the community and looking like you know more than someone else.

People aren't paying others to log on their account and bump random trade topics just for +1 to their postcounts.

That's beyond too far.

I even took a break from this site for a while, hell, I remember when Max only had like 2K and I thought he was a pretty cool person and I was the only one who talked to him via PM.

That was a long time ago, and any possible "in" crowd I was once part of is beyond me now, and post count would never change that, believe me.

Many other things matter before the number of posts one has.

I used to judge people by their post counts, but as soon as I gained over 1000 to my name, I ceased to care, as there were no titles above it.
Despite the addition of new ones, I'm still not caring, I know who's awesome and who's not by what they say and what they do.

Been a member since February 2009, and I only have about 300+ posts. I only post on discussions in which I can have an actual conversation. It seems to me that a lot of people go into a thread and say something dumb like "I agree" or "lol" without actually saying anything of real interest.

Post counts are kind of meaningless. It just points out who wastes more of their life on this site. Not that there's anything wrong with that. =]

I don't judge on post count really, or date joined, more on the badges, because it shows what they're proud of or possibly what sort of person they are, though I do suppose that if they have a (compared to most) low post count but have been a member since 2007-mid 2008, then I find I like them better, because I'm a judgemental a-hole who thinks he's the lord almighty because he lurked for a few months before joining (Since May I think) though I do have a very low post count, even compared to long standing members who never really post.

But I do wonder how people who have been on for less than 6 or 7 months go gonzo so quickly? I suppose I go on average 5/6 posts a day not including , but think I worked someones average per day out once and it was crazy!

I don't feel particularly strong about them one way or another.
It's a cool little addition, but it's not like they make anyone better or worse.
The content of a person's posts is also a much better indicator of their merit.

I got the majority of mine from posting in my home section of the forum games. Obsessively.
I have a bit too much fun there.
Recently(last three months or so), I've started coming to the off topic section more.
