I thought you were supposed to know things like this.
You should know how invaluable I am to anything.
OK, maybe not sex. I would not be very good in sexual situations.

Though what I would inflict on someone who put me in said position would be awe-inspiring.
I do! But uh. Introspection is an important part of Our Glorious Religion!
(you may call me Glorious Leader.)

I can only imagine the hilarious awkwardness that would ensue if you were to attempt sexy things.
"Uh wait we're supposed to do what.
Okay no."

Hrm...
We have an opening for Minister of Shin Kickings.
The title for it is long and complicated, and it also summons Cthulhu when spoken aloud.

So we don't do that much.
But yeah, it's yours if you want it.
Hrm...
I guess that'll do. Does it come with telepathy?

Because someone needs to learn to stay in the damn kitchen, and it's not me.

Now shut up and get cooking while I go buy some more shoes and purses using your credit card.

Ah gezz, I wanted to poke some fun at the OP cause he was all uppity about his join date, but this just got way off topic. Good job Maxi and Bob.

Wow, I remember that thread, it got posted just before I went inactive for months on end. Scary stuff.
As for post counts, they don't mean too much to me, especially if the person (as mentioned before) has thousands of posts in the matter of a few weeks.
Date joined is slightly more significant in my opinion, but even that doesn't matter as much as the actual content of the person's posts.

I do wonder how people like Max and NeonBob can get so much, but post count I guess doesn't matter much to me.

I go through periods of lots of posting, then periods of no posting.

There's always an air that the people with more posts are more likely to be listened too than those with low ones. People just naturally disregard peoples opinions when they see a small number under their name, regardless of the content of their posts. It's just the way it works. I don't mind about post counts, I find them more interesting than anything else and if you keep tabs on them you find out just how much some people are on here. I care about my own only because it's a track of how much I'm on here.

So im just curious on what everyone's take on each others Post counts, compared to the date of joining the Escapist, I was just curious because I see some of the new people(stupid kids and der postin!) who have been on for what seems only a month and have like 2k posts or something like that and I sit and wonder. Do some people judge a person's knowledge by post count? I know that Credibility can be gained by a larger count(situation may vary) but what about the length of membership?

I.E I have been on the escapists for like 2 and some years and I only have a count of 800 or so, but others have that much in a week hah.

(yes this is the post from a very bored person who is escaping homework)
Actually I only look at my own posts for self reflection, I've always enjoyed the post count. Perhaps its some pathetic need to prove my worth but I'd like to think that the majority of my posts are on topic and contribute a bit to each thread.

In my time TSRPing the post count of members on each forum often helped me distinguish between whose more valuable to the community, even if it doesn't portray their contribution perfectly, it at least shows they're active.

Oh well. I honestly felt the same way about it before someone got me hooked on them.
They know who they are.
Naw, it's just the ones I've seen aren't really involved.
Ah.
That makes sense, I suppose. There were tons of really good ones over the summer, ones that required some thought to post in.
They seem to be getting fewer, unfortunately.
SOMEONE MUST BE HUNTING THEM.

My God I remember that thread, we came up with some strange, stuff. With thread did we create that messed up cooking company purely in [sup] speak?

It shows dedication to the Community, thats what it shows.
What? If post counts were relative to dedication to the community, Danny Ocean would have well over a million posts by now and Root, Word and myself would be not too far behind him. Just because I don't post obsessively it doesn't mean that I don't do whatever I can to help the PC clan or the community or that I'm not amoung the first 3 people to show up for 99% of the events and amoung the last 3 to leave.
I mean, post as much as you want, I couldn't care less, but the correlation between post count and dedication is very weak indeed. I mean, what about that certain purple dog? He had loads of posts but 40% of his posts were trolling or baiting and the rest were his responses to people taking the bait.

Anyway, as for what you said about age. It doesn't matter but I love when the wee kids go to post in those silly relationship threads. I mean, no offence, but a 12 year old is in no position to tell someone the best way to get laid by some girl who has a boyfriend which seems to be the only relationship problem people have on these forums.

We did indeed.
I think it was the Classic Game.
Which I'm kinda glad is not around anymore, because it was a one-word answer kinda thing...we do the [sup] stuff in other games now, though.

Well I think its pretty pointless... What exactly is it proving? That you're more "dedicated"? I don't really care if people have enormous amounts or very little. Personally i just leave a few comments a week, if that.

Some people like to write stuff more than others. Just like in a room some people like to talk more and some like to hang back a bit.

Silly to read anything more into it than that, really.

I do wonder how some people can get the same ammount of posts in 3 months that I can in over a year. Its like people just cybernetically fuse with their computers!

I to have been here for two years, or so, and I can't believe the post counts some people have. I visit the Escapist multiple times a day, and am not just some casual poster. Here's an Idea divide your number of posts by the days since you joined, and post the average.

I put more faith in a "Regular" badge, than I do a Neo badge. Also we should petition the Mods for a 2 year badge. There's 1 year, and Three years. Come on!
