Portals disable when they move. Don't you remember?

Next.
No, I don't recall ever hearing that. And the reason for this being...?

"That's the way they work" is not an acceptable answer.
Well, i was going to say "because thats what happened in the game when you put a portal on a moving surface. End of discussion."

But i suppose i could bullshit you. How about, the energy ring that produces the wormhole disconnects from the spacial warp producing the wormhole. once the warp is produced its a rigid structure (don't question the wheelchair guy. just go with it), so as long as the two portals are in the same spacial relation to each other, they're connected. But moving one disconnects it. Shutting it down.

There. Bullshit delivered. Next.

Here's a riddle I found.

You hire a man to work for you for seven days. You have one bar of gold with which to pay him, segmented into seven sections. You must give him a piece of gold per day. If you can only make two breaks in the bar, how will you pay him?

My friend's boyfriend knocked this thing out in a heartbeat; when I heard the answer I was like "Ohhhh, it was so EASY!" But when someone can't solve a problem like this, it's because they affix limitations to themselves that aren't there. Which is interesting in and of itself.
It depends on what sort of limitations you want to impose on the person you're asking. I could easily say something like

Get him to break a piece off each day

or

Sell the bar and buy 7 smaller pieces with the proceeds

or

The gold is already broken into seven pieces

and it would be right, unless you specified otherwise. It just means we're guessing the conditions of your universe that you haven't told us.

Some more that I found online

Name an English word of more than 2 letters that both begins and ends with the letters 'he' (in that order) HEHE doesn't count

There is a room with no doors, no windows, nothing and a man is hung from the ceiling and a puddle of water is on the floor. How did he die if he couldn't reach the rope to hang himself without help?

The day before yesterday, Chris was 7 years old. Next year, he'll turn 10. How is this possible?

You have three containers. One has only red marbles, one has only blue marbles and the third has an equal number of red and blue marbles. The labels on the containers have intentionally been switched so that each container is now marked incorrectly. What is the fewest number of marbles you need to inspect from the containers in order to correctly label each container?

Name one eight letter word that has kst in the middle, in the beginning, and at the end.

A clever thief in the olden days was charged with treason against the king and sentenced to death. But the king decided to be a little lenient so he let the thief choose his own way to die. What way should the thief choose?

How quickly can you find out what is unusual about this paragraph? It looks so ordinary that you would think that nothing is wrong with it at all-- and, in fact, nothing is. But it is a bit odd. Why? If you study it and think about it, you may find out, but I am not going to assist you in any way. You must do it without any coaching. No doubt, if you work at it for long, it will dawn on you. Who knows?

never you would keep halving your distance and never get their. but of course if your only 1.25 feet from the door u can probably reach it from there.

An infinite number of mathematicians walk into a bar. The first asks for a beer, the second half a beer, the third one fourth a beer, and so on. The bartender says, "You know what? You guys are assholes," pours two beers and leaves.

One. You know the box labeled "mixed" has only one color (let's say red), hence the box labeled blue has both (since it can't have only red as they are in the "mixed" box), and the box labeled "red" has blue.

The tables are the same size and are larger then the portals so you can't do that.

there are 2 guards, one that always lies, and one that tells the truth
one guard has a bag of gold and the other has a bag of feathers
you dont know which guard is which, nor do you know which bag has the gold
you are only allowed to ask one guard, one question
what question do you ask to get the bag of gold
You ask him which bag the other will say has the gold because the liar will say that the truth teller would lie and point at the feathers and the truth teller would say that the liar would lie and point at the feathers.

Actually, the portals are not circular, they're oval/elliptical. The panels you put them on are 2x1, not square. Which means you can turn them on their sides and they are capable of fitting inside each other.

Hurrah for copy and paste

Three gods A, B, and C are called, in some order, True, False, and Random. True always speaks truly, False always speaks falsely, but whether Random speaks truly or falsely is a completely random matter. Your task is to determine the identities of A, B, and C by asking three yes-no questions; each question must be put to exactly one god. The gods understand English, but will answer all questions in their own language, in which the words for yes and no are 'da' and 'ja', in some order. You do not know which word means which.

Clarifications

# It could be that some god gets asked more than one question (and hence that some god is not asked any question at all).
# What the second question is, and to which god it is put, may depend on the answer to the first question. (And of course similarly for the third question.)
# Whether Random speaks truly or not should be thought of as depending on the flip of a coin hidden in his brain: if the coin comes down heads, he speaks truly; if tails, falsely.
# Random will answer 'da' or 'ja' when asked any yes-no question

This is one I post every time I find a thread like this:

Four talented men sat down to play,
And played all night till break of day.
They played for cash and not for fun,
With separate score for every one.
When it came time to square accounts,
They all had made good fair amounts.
Not one has lost, but all have gained,
I challenge you, this to explain.
they played against other people, it never said they were alone

you will never reach the door completely because you will just keep taking an infinite amount of small steps

1. Let a and b be equal non-zero quantities

a = b

2. Multiply through by a

a^2 = ab

3. Subtract b^2

a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2

4. Factor both sides

(a - b)(a + b) = b(a - b)

5. Divide out (a - b)

a + b = b

6. Observing that a = b

b + b = b

7. Combine like terms on the left

2b = b

8. Divide by the non-zero b

2 = 1

Dunno if someone posted this yet, but solve this math riddle.
