Thought I'd go for a traditional thread for the first one of the new forum. :p

Simple enough, post your current rig! Pics etc. welcome also.

I'm currently running;

Processor: Intel Core i5 Haswell 4570 CPU
Memory: 16GB HyperX Fury
GPU: ASUS Strix GTX 960 2GB
SSD: 250GB Sandisk
Main Stroage: 2GB WD HDD
Corsair 700W PSU.

I need to upgrade the graphics card at some point, the 960 is pretty good but 2GB of VRAM is a little too... little... for some games.

Going to wait till the next round of NVIDIA GPU's later in the year though.

Anyway, post yours!

Oh hey, new forum board

OT: I have a Acer Aspire V Laptop

Processor: Intel Core i5-4210u
Memory: 8GB DDR3
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 840m /w 2 GB VRAM
SSD: N/A
Main Storage: 1000GB

I got it about 2 years ago to allow me to play some games while I was in college and, while it's starting to fall off a bit compared to other devices, I intend to get another year out of it at least before I upgrade.

Processor: i7 3370k
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
GPU: GTX 960 4GB
SSD: Seagate 120 GB
Main Storage: 6TB over 4 drivers
PSU: Corsair 700W

The CPU is getting a little old but still sits at 70 FPS at 2k on high without breaking a sweat. When people go ask for gaming builds I always recommend going for the most powerful CPU you can afford to give it longevity. The odds are you will upgrade the GPU in 2 years time, so spending a little less upfront the on GPU saves money by having a longer lasting build.

Processor: Intel Core i5-6400
Memory 12GB
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 530
SSD: N/A
Main Storage: 2TB internal

Pretty much your standard store bought PC, planning to build one myself but my old XP blew out it's motherboard (literally blew out about 4 capacitors) and I just wanted a fast cheap PC. Works great for what I use it for, just haven't tried too many PC games yet.

CPU:
Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
RAM:
8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz
GPU:
247ELPH (1920x1080@60Hz)
SyncMaster (1280x1024@75Hz)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2GB RAM
Storage:
OS: 1TB Seagate (SATA)
Main: 2TB Western Digital WD External HDD (SATA)
Backup: 2st 2TB WD internal in docking station.
PSU: 750W Corsair

Planning to keep this one awhile. At least until it breaks down, so at least 4-5 more years then (only had it for 1 yet).
I mostly play older games or new indie ones so there is not a lot of demands being made on it.

CPU : intel I7 820@ 2.8 ghz
RAM : 12 gb ddr3
GPU : Asus GeForce GTX 660 TI 2gb
SSD Samsung 850 512 gb for OS
Storage 2.25 TB on 5 drives but two of them are in RAID 1
PSU thermaltake 700w

well, i know it's on the verge of being outdated, but still, i got a decent fps on fallout 4 and assassin's creed unity. i guess my next move will be to upgrade the cpu/motherboard, especially since i have a bottleneck on the ssd because the board have only sata2 port, while the drive is sata 3, so i could get more performance out of it with a new motherboard. but honestly, i lack the money right now

I just got a new PC, actually.

MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon Motherboard
CPU: i7-6700k, 4 GHz w/4.40 GHz native OC and watercooling
GPU: MSI Nvidia GTX 960 w/ 4 GB VRAM

No SSD, 1 TB Western Digital HDD + 2 TB WD external HDD
XFX 550W PSU

I spent all of my money on it, and I'm a bit paranoid that it's going to break.

Built this rig over December/January:

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912
Mobo: MSI Z97 PC Mate
CPU: Intel i5-4690K
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 390x 8GB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB
SSD: Crucial BX100 500GB
HDD: None
Optical: None
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2
Keyboard: Logitech G710+
Mouse: Logitech G402

Monitor: LG 1920x1080-60Hz display that I purchased back in 2010.

I got some really great deals on the major components during the Black Friday and New Years sales. I'm considering a new 4K display but will probably hold off for another couple of years.

I plan on keeping this setup for a good while, though, my next upgrade will probably be my processor, because AMD is just... eeeeeeeeeh. I see a whole lot of benchmarks running i5s and i7s, getting framerates that are leaps and bounds over what I am getting with the same setup sans processor, though, it is not much of a priority, right now.

Processor: 4670k that I believe is sitting at 4ghz
Memory: 16GB Vengeance DDR3
GPU: MSI GTX770 2gb
SSD: None as of now
Main Stroage: 1TB

I built this a couple years back and it originally had a 660 in it. I was considering doing a whole new build and upgrading to skylake and DDR4 but I have less and less time to play games lately and I don't think I can justify the expense. Right now I'm just sitting tight for Pascal and gonna see if I want to upgrade. I've been spending money on my car and getting ready for a cross country road trip so the PC has taken a backseat. Besides, with a slight OC my 770 has been surprisingly powerful and I feel like I get a lot of performance out of it that it has no business giving.

Solid build!

Question though. Is there a reason you went with the i7 and skipped the SSD and went with a 960? Seems like overkill on the processor. That is, unless you do a lot of rendering or art (but I guess that's why I'm asking in the first place haha)

I got a new PC recently so i'm posting to remind myself what i actually have.

i7-6700K 4ghtz
32GB RAM
GTX 980ti

Side notes, my first time using water cooling, didn't know it had gotten so easy that you can just forget you have it, system files are on an ssd, hard drive for storage, and by far the best feature of this PC which is hot dock bays for 3 hard drives, one being right on f***ing top.

I have lots of files to backup, i highly recommend this.

Yeah, I've been doing a lot of video editing for the past eight months or so. The laptop I was using has an i7 as well, but it's first-gen, so I wanted to get a straight upgrade and have something that would be sufficiently future-proof. Didn't have the money to get an SSD or better GPU because of it, though, and I also figured that swapping the GPU would be more simple than trying to upgrade the CPU.
