Deus EX: HR . Jensen looks badass .
That's funny because I loved that game, but thought Jensen looked kind of like a douche.

Lost Planet: You aren't entirely unplayablely boring.

Red Faction Armageddon gave us the reconstruction thing. I mean, it took away why I wanted it (tactical use of destroyed stairs in hostage missions, and blowing up things from the beginning of the game for fun), but I got it at least we got it.

L.A. Noire's soundtrack of rain was nice and soothing to the soul. And while it's character animations were so far entrenched in the uncanny valley for me I physically couldn't play much of the game without being ill, I do admire that they're pushing motion capture to such extremes.

Braid: If it was as fun as it was pretty, it wouldn't be in this list.

Heavy Rain: Wonderfully attention capturing, and might be one of my favorite games, if it hadn't crapped out halfway through to become completely inplayable.

Rage looks impressive and has some of the most beautifully smooth character animations I have ever seen.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations made zip lines quite fun to zoom along.

Fable 2 introduced the dog companion, which was fun.

The men and women behind FIFA have replicated all the essential details of a real football game, players, a pitch, goals and a ball. Good for them!

Shadow The Hedgehog had a decent sound-track.

Final Fantasy 12 had some very pretty CG-I cutscenes that are still very nice to watch even to this day.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is better than Big Rigs over the Road Racing 2.

First-person shooters in general -- The frenetic pacing works well - but it's mostly the older games that capture that sense of mental panic well. More recent ones, well, kinda don't.

Modern Warfare 1 -- The story was definitely above average by the (low as the poxy Challenger Deep) standards of FPSs and contained some decent dramatic moments.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (XBox port) -- The formerly abysmal loading times are now severely cut, which is a Good Thing. Shame about the rest of the game, really, I loved that series.
