That's actually a good idea and I'm glad to see they're doing it. Though, it's probably be smarter to bundle the previous two Mass Effect games with it {you know, for all the new Mass Effect players they think ME3 will bring in).

But whatever, they're showing progress, which is good. Shame it seems to be region locked, though.
it's actually smart marketing in my opinion, it'll get people *possibly* interested in the battlefield series and origin if they package it with me3, while for all the people who are getting me3 (they are aiming it towards a more casual crowd, let's be honest) they can sucker them into liking me3 and have them doubling back to buy me1 and 2 to figure out the rest of the series.

OT: enticing offer, but getting it for much cheaper else where, otherwise this would definitely have my purchase.

Still not going to buy it. I have never liked ME and I never will. It's combat is weird and I don't find it's conversations very real. Everyone looks odd to me. Nice bonus for people how will buy the game though.

That doesn't sound like a bad deal. Although I'm getting the console version of ME3, so it won't matter to me.

Yep, EA officially thinks ME3 is a shooter franchise.

No way around it now. Fucking idiots ruined Mass Effect.
You use guns in the Mass Effect games. Doesn't that qualify them as shooters? You use GUNS to SHOOT things.

As for the people here who insist on not buying it just because it's on Origin, I'll bet at least half of you will crack when it comes out. It happened to the L4D2 boycotters.

L4D2 boycott - We don't want to buy another game already.
Origin boycott - I'd rather not give up my legal rights for your service.

Also, people tend to think of shooters as games that have a solid focus on the act of shooting. You could replace ME guns with nerf blasters and the feel the game wouldn't change.

While you do make a good point about the whole legal rights thing, I still believe that they both have the same basic idea: Refusing to buy something from somebody because they're doing something you don't like.

And it's true, Mass Effect's central focus is it's story and RPG elements. It's just that to me, "shooter" seems to be a very broad term.

what legal rights are being given up i don't think I'll ever understand that. i read it and i don't see anything worth getting pissed off about. oh well it may just be paranoia.

Bringing this to everyone's attention: It's US only. Anyone else gets shafted on this deal.
Nothing new, then. The world outside of US doesn't exist.

Thanks, but no, thanks. EA is a strong, strong deterrent for me. It is a good deal, don't get me wrong, but no matter what, it's still EA, and it's still Origin. I won't give them money, no matter what deal or offer they have.

Pesky little thing called integrity gives me strength.

i was watching Hannah of the yogcast playing the demo , killed any desire i had for ME cold. kinect support, console based weak shooter that it has become.
irrelevant anyway as i wont support the monopolistic market abuse of origin anyway.

No, EA. That's not enough incentive for me to buy it from you. Maybe if you let us link our Steam account with Origin and had everything bought on Steam show up on Origin and vice-versa (as long as it's available on both). Do that and I might consider signing up with you.

LMAO.

My grocery store has bananas and broccoli on sale right now. If you buy a banana and a sprig of broccoli at the same time the banana becomes a vegetable.

Friggen grocery stores. They fucking ruined fruit. RUINED FOREVER!
I see someone is trying to cost everyone else their day. Won't work on me, given I've read that article before months ago.

Bonus Item number 3 "4X6 Lithographic Print" delivered digitally. Do I need a 3D printer for that ? Or do they just think that anyone paying $79 for ME3 won't know what 'lithographic print' means?

Pre-order one "rpg"shooter that will disappoint you and get another one for free that already has, no thanks ^_^.

Also EA didn't ruin my life but they sure as hell ruin Bioware, Dice, Westwood, Bullfrog, Maxis, Crytek and pretty much every game company the last 20years they ever manage to suck into their big slime mouth, the greedy bloodsucking parasites that they are. Furthermore EA supported SOPA & PIPA, this alone is a reason for them to go fuck themselves and stick their sorry excuse for an online service up their arsehole.

EA games do show up on Origin if you bought them on Steam though, my copy of Alice Madness Returns I bought on the Steam Christmas sale can be downloaded and activated through Origins, so I guess thats one half of the battle.

What the fuck are you talking about? I seriously don't know. I simply used that guy's exact argument for another situation to show how fucking stupid it was.

Where the hell do you see free BF3 with ME3 pre-order? You're a confused young man. Here are all the pre-order items: http://store.origin.com/store/eaemea/en_IE/html/pbPage.mass-effect-3-IE/
"ORIGIN PRE-ORDER OFFER DETAILS
Prepare to enter the battle! Instructions on how to redeem your bonus PC Digital Download copy of Battlefield 3? will be sent to you via email when Mass Effect? 3 is released."
Thank you for posting that Lost.

Jensen, I linked it in my OP. Its at the top of the screen when you click the link. It works like this: read THEN respond.

Funny. Seeing the same three archetypes:

#1: Cool I'm interested in this / do not want but cool for those who do.
#2: Origin is an AI intent on killing me and assuming my identity conspiracy theorists
#3: MASS EFFECT 3 SUCKS!!!!! (Irrelevant to the discussion we're having here but thanks for your input)

Look I know some of you don't like Origin. I'm not going to tell you that you should run right out and download it. I'm just telling you that the cognitive dissonance involved in vocally hating origin and it's data gathering policies while at the same time continuing to use google, facebook, itunes and steam is baffling.

Tempting, gonna go over their User Agreement again to see if it's been changed yet, some people have told me as much but I never cared to check before since BF3 stopped being a big thing for me.
