EA could offer to send a pretty girl over to my house to suck my cock every day for a year and i still wouldn't go anywhere near origin.

It doesn't help that they're being all 'fuck the other 90% of the world, USA is the only one that matters'.

It's a nice incentive i suppose, but i personally wont be touching origin with a 10 foot pole. Also, i've already ordered mass effect 3 for the Xbox, so there is that :)

That doesn't sound like a bad deal. Although I'm getting the console version of ME3, so it won't matter to me.

Yep, EA officially thinks ME3 is a shooter franchise.

No way around it now. Fucking idiots ruined Mass Effect.
You use guns in the Mass Effect games. Doesn't that qualify them as shooters? You use GUNS to SHOOT things.

As for the people here who insist on not buying it just because it's on Origin, I'll bet at least half of you will crack when it comes out. It happened to the L4D2 boycotters.

That's what buying used is for (and the reason I still own a console). ME is not a multiplayer series to me so if EA has some DRM on that I won't miss out.

Hmm, tempting, but let down by the fact that anyone that would have wanted Battlefield 3 would have bought it over the Christmas period, and that any fans of Mass Effect that didn't think the game was bad would already have it to get early multiplayer access AND that most people would prefer to go to other recognized retailers to buy it (for instance, over here in the UK, I bought the Collectors Edition at GAME and from what I can tell, will get almost every pre-order item available bar an Origin exclusive shotgun or something) instead of a service that (to many gamers) may or may not contain spyware.

Hmm... reminds me a lottle bit of EA's tactics before the launch of 'Dragon Age 2'. Remember the avalanche of free stuff they threw at you if you pre-ordered?

Though I admit I have Mass Effect 3 pre-ordered for the 360 and haven't played the demo. Maybe the learned from DA2?

Hell's bells people will complain either way it turns out.

"Waaaah! Origin has no sales! They have no incentive to use it!"

Pre-order ME3 and get this amazing game we made!

"Waaaaah! ME3 is ruined forever because they want to give me a free game! Boo frikkity hoo!"

Hell's fucking bells man.

So now you can get two games that EA may spontaneously ban you from if you say mean things about them or curse on the internet.

Some people are just.... amazing to not use other words. A company gives You something for free and yet You still manage to come up with crap-tons of reasons to complain. Seriously? You want to be treated like customers with that attitude? Gamers truly are the whiniest bunch.

If this offer comes to the UK I'll bite the bullet and pre-order from EA. If not, I'll just grab it from Tesco at the RRP on release day.

Bringing this to everyone's attention: It's US only. Anyone else gets shafted on this deal.
Your avatar is suited very well to that statement.

First I was like "Thanks EA, Wow,I now have this game I really didn't want"
Then I was like "Oh this OP lied."
And then "Oh thanks EA for shafting me because I don't like in the US. Every other person is getting this game I don't want but me"

I don't know what to feel any more.

A very nice deal indeed for those who are interested. However, this is just a kick in the balls for me who has decided to boycott EA(not because of Origin). Damn it, why did ME3 have to look awesome?

EA Origin killed my mother.

I was going to get ME3 off of Origin anyway, but now I have another reason.

I don't have Origin, I don't have any desire to play BF3 and I can just buy Mass Effect 3 at my local game store in town. Plus it's not available in the UK so this fall flat on its face.

Bastards! I wasn't going to install origin but it showed up to my house and held a knife to my pregnant wife's throat until I installed it. Now my computer watches me in the shower.

For those of you still bitching about Origin after I've already tried to explain how it's no different than using Steam please go read this, specifically #5 on the list.

EA isn't the ONLY company out there that can disable your access to stuff you bought.

It's funny how people keep bringing up the myth that they banned somebody from his games for badmouthing them because I'm almost 100% certain it went beyond simple "badmouthing." He was being a fucking dick on their forums and got banned for it. Based on my own experiences with various internet forums you NEVER just go from post to ban without some kind of warning. But this dude kept being a dick. He lost access to his games (Which according to the TOS he agreed to he was renting not owning.) Lesson learned: don't be a fucking dick.

I also consider it a myth because I've seen no evidence of it actually happening. Too many of you guys subscribe to the "everything on the internet is true" mindset. Case in point here. I could start another thread with a bullshit story about someway EA screwed me over and get tons of responses about "how could they do this." Because your confirmation bias wants it to be true instead of critically thinking and trying to find out the facts.

That is true. If you're getting the console version. You can't buy the PC version used can you? (Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm mainly a console gamer)

Plus this is Mass Effect we're talking about. People who played through the first two games on the PC won't be able to transfer their saves to a console version.

So unless the game comes on on Steam or retail, PC gamers will probably have to buy the game through Origin. Should they choose to do so that is. :p
