Gold and Silver are easily the best Pokemon games and I have them, will it really be worth it to get the same game again with some minor improvements? It's tempting but I also feel like I shouldn't, it was only awesome when you could battle other people and trade and stuff, none of my friends play it anymore so I don't feel it's really worth it.

Do you feel like getting your hands on some nifty-looking figurines of the two legendary bird Pokemon, Ho-oh and Lugia? Then you'll have to pre-order Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Oh, like you weren't going to already.
Hey, in case you missed it, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver - remakes of one of the most beloved generations of Pokemon games - are hitting the West this March. But you hadn't missed it, had you? Please, you were going to get them anyway.
But in case you weren't yet sold on getting the shiny new versions of the best Pokemon generation until Diamond and Pearl came out, how's this to sweeten the deal: Anyone who preorders one of the games will get a little figurine made by Japanese toy company Kaiyodo [http://www.kaiyodo.co.jp/] (best known to otaku as the makers of Revoltech figurines). Naturally, they're the pocket monsters seen on the games' respective covers: SoulSilver gets you Lugia, while HeartGold nets you Ho-oh.
Now, I don't know. I was going to get HeartGold myself, but that Lugia is kind of swaying me in the direction of SoulSilver now. It's a tough call.
Maybe I'll just get both and make them fight.

Of course, what I'll prolly do is just go ahead with Gold since everyone I know is getting silver, then give the figure away so that I feel generous, rather than feeling cheated.

Man, I am so damn sick of people who just write pokemon games off as kiddie/say they're all the same. For ****'s sake, The Legend of Zelda follows a formula, and the Pokemon games do too, BUT THEY DONT NEED GIMMICKS. As for kiddie, just because it's not overly violent doesn't make it not hardore. Think about it. You can already fill your pokedex in the 4th generation. HG/SS are catering right to the fanbase, most of whose longtime true fans love the 2nd gen best. So please: If your not a fan, don't be a hater.
