Except me, because it seems like I'm the only one who's realized that the series has gone to shit.
I'm with you actually, as much as I still enjoy the games, I can't deny that the games are essentialy the same each time.

Mini-***** aside, me want figurines! Is there anyway for me to get the figurines without the game?

Also totally off-topic, I'm suprised it took me that damn long to figure out that your avatar pictures are from that Japanese only game Klonoa Heroes.
Yeah, I'm a Klonoa fanboy. :p

My main gripe with the Pokemon games is that they barely ever change, as you said. I've been wishing that they'd either put a bigger emphasis on story to keep my mind stimulated, since the games have been so predictable that you could literally play them in your sleep. Also, I'd like it if they finally abandoned the random battle formula. After playing the Mother/EarthBound series, I just can't tolerate RPGs that use that crap.

The only good thing I can say about the current generation is how they changed special attacks and physical attacks. That was actually a pretty cool change, which helped out Pokemon that got screwed by the old style, like Hitmonchan.

Not to be rude, but what's the point of remaking an old Pokemon game? Aren't they all the same anyway?

Are they a true remake or do they feature all the new pokemon? Cause i liked everything up to and including Gold and silver. Not so much the ones where theres like 3 million pokemon, mostly copy and pastes the originals with slight tweaks.
The pokemon will have new moves, stats, etc because of the changes of game mechanics. That's one of the worst things about firered. to me.

This one has content after you beat the first elite 4. I missed out on these when they came out, so I'm ecstatic about this.

D/P is, IMO, the best generation if you aren't one of the "THE ORIGINAL 151 WERE THE ONLY POKEMON EVER" folks. Balanced, tourney-capable, good for newbies and oldbies alike, and with some cool new sides.
Yeah Nostalgic dip shits are kind of annoying when it comes to gaming. I've been trying to explain that each pokemon has made sense.

But yeah, Diamond and Pearl were fantastic. I've yet to play a Pokemon that didn't really impress me. HOWEVER I will admit they are not adding new non-animal content nearly fast enough. A Pokemon MMO has been long overdue, they already have all the sprites rendered in 3D and a slew of NPCs.

Hmmmmmm these remakes do kinda intrigue me, almost enough to make me consider coming out of retirement again. Not so keen on these figurines though, I don't need any more junk (and by 'junk', I mean novelty items that ultimately don't serve any purpose other then to take up space) lying around my place.

I'm getting more and more tempted to buy one of these games, its just going to be weird buying a pokemon game at 18. I wonder what my dormmates will say...

I'm totally getting this. I loved G/S. Only "new" generation Pokemon game where you could still go to the first region, and had one of my favorite starters ever. Possibly my favorite pokemon game, and the first step into my rpg addiction.

Ho-oh can never hope to match up to the awesome glory that Lugia basked in. Besides, Silver had better sprites, which I seriously hope they keep in the remakes. That said, I don't know if I'll have enough money to preorder Silver straight away, and the figurine will just be another thing cluttering up my room, despite its awesomeness. I vow to get SoulSilver eventually, but whether or not I preorder it is yet to be seen.

If I had a DS and the money, I'd definitively go for the SoulSilver one.

I predate Pokemon by 20 years. I hated it when the fad began, and I still hate it now! So nyah!

.. remakes? Again? Is Nintendo really that lazy? The games barely change at all between iterations.

They will accept it or fall to the fires! I just made my dormmates play with me. ^_^
Now we are spending the quarter training to climax in a grand tournament at the end of the quarter for the HG/SS release. It has been SO exciting, we have all put at least 100 hours into it so far!

Pokemon returning to the news is so nice.

I like how there are so many Lugia fans here :3

I never liked the fire chicken myself. More's the pity, I lack a DS, so I can't get SoulSilver.

I'm going to hold out for the inevitable Crystal remake... though those figurines are incredibly tempting.
