I might as well ask something constructive then:

With a lot of members of The Escapist snagging these keys, does anyone want to set up either a practice league or Escapist SC2 beta tourney? I know there are at least 6 people here in the beta and hopefully these keys will make a lot more.

They're hardly selling beta access, people who want it would've already pre-ordered and second of all, if you want in the beta, you're likely to want the game, so it's a nice bonus to come with the game. Y'know that game you'd be buying regardless of whether it came with beta access

I planned on buying SC II anyways, so I went for it anyways, and I must say... .

Although it seems natural that they would do it this way, after all they want to maximize their profits and all the "real" SC gamers (aka the ones who test HARD) would have preordered anyways. Yes, it's taking them a while to release, but hey you can get to play early through the beta...

Or, if you're not sure if you'll like it, 5$ demo!

Amazon is also sending out beta codes for those who pre-order, even though it isn't advertised on their site. I pre-ordered via amazon as soon as the CE was announced and was just sent my beta code.

So, I'm curious, how many escapist friend requests do you get zerged with when you post something like this? Or if you have any of your tags in your profile? The Escapist does have a pretty big readership, after all.

Meh... I hate Starcraft... I got into the beta and I gotta say, the graphics are awesome and I have mental orgies when I hear those beautifully remixed songs in the background... but the core gameplay itself is what I hate and it hasn't changed one bit since '98, whether is good or bad depends on if in the first place you loved SC1. As for me, I uninstalled it after 3 hours playing it. I'm glad I didn't payd a cent to play it, I was even planning to pirate it when it comes out, now I don't have the urge I had to even play the thing.
