The night was dark? In summer? In Norway? No way.

I haven't really experienced a particular incident like the one you mentioned, but I live in a house that's over 100 years old, so practically every night when I am home alone has the horror movie potential.

In Spain, a few years ago, I woke up from a good nights sleep at the hotel I was staying at to find all the windows shattered. When I got outside I saw that all the trees along the beach were uprooted and cars had been overturned it took a long time to find out that I had slept through a hurricane (I don't speak spanish that well and the locals that spoke English were busy being confused at the fact I knew nothing about what happened).

I experienced the same thunderstorm as the OP last night (or one similar to it), and the darkness, rain and thunder made this half-urban half-rural place seem very damn scary, especially when the church and as such the local graveyard isn't all that far away. So yeah...

I was in Florida when Hurricane Katrina hit. That was so very f*****g scary. It was even heading our way but I think it changed dirction and hit New Orleans. Luckily my room had all of the hurricane emergency kits in so if anyone was going to live it would be me.

I was playing soccer one night, when I looked over at the field beside us. It was in a depression, and had mist slowly covering it. It was the absolute perfect kind of mist for zombies to slowly rise out of.

What's great about it is that while it's still scary, it wouldn't be all that bad if it happened, because zombies aren't really scary.

I was walking my dogs the other day and no one was out, no birds were making noise, no cars out on the road. Where I live there is always something going on people outside, cars going by, Construction noise or something. It felt like the opening scene from a last man on earth kind of story, it was like everyone vanished it lasted for like 5 minutes until someone drove by me. It was pretty weird feeling to feel alone like that.

Sounds impressive.
I've been right at the eye of a thunder storm before while camping.

Nothing makes you feel more tiny.
Wow sounds pretty frightening.
I though the eye of a storm was totally calm?
I though it was the eye of a hurricane which was totally calm, i could be wrong though.
