can you kill an enemy by spawning falling down on them?
Supposedly, but I've never seen that/done it. You can kill/damage by running into an enemy in Overdrive (running really fast and tackling them).

Is there going to be a Escapist server?

Bold words, Funk - if I actually played games online, I would test you on them. Instead, I challenge you to a game of guessing what's in my pockets!

So the game is called Section 8... Is there going to be a sequence where you try to get out of your unit by dressing in floral print dresses?
Hee hee! I see what you did there!

Thanks Anti for the response.
Can you attack the spawning solider as he falls? I noticed in the game-play videos that there are drop-ships, can you spawn on top of them?

I like that you can adjust your character to suit your needs prior to spawn but I hope when they release the game those options are unlock-able like COD did it. Is the gameplay like CellFactor: Psychokinetic Wars?

Ok, now I can see the lvl design better and they work, but again this is only the online maps and not the game play ones

The sound of laughter soothes my vexed mind. Aside from that though you've earned a cookie! Unfortunately though I can give you none, as I do not know how to do that yet.

Burns: KLINGER, take that dress off!
Klinger: Not on the first date, sir!

*Sigh*

Though I try so hard to look on the bright side, but when I see these games, I cry. All these games want to do is be like Halo. They want the success that allows them permission to release an expansion pack at full price, to be able to release some shit in a bag and make millions off of it. Why doesn't anyone try to do something clever and new like Ace Team did with Zeno Clash?

If I really want to play a generic space marine shooter (I still have not felt the urge after all these years), I will play the most generic space marine shooter of all time; Halo.

Did you even PLAY the game?

I ended up downloading the open beta after watching this review to give it a go.... While by no standards is it amazing and I'm still not quite sure if I'll buy it, but I can say one thing. This is not Halo by any means, the only thing similar is you being a guy in a heavy space suit.

I played the beta and I left it with a resounding "Meh." It seems a lot, to me, like the entire Battlefield series with a few tweaks and space marine supersoldier types instead of Joe Blow infantryman.

Honestly, I'd say to all of you to try it for yourselves. Maybe you'll enjoy it more than me.

Great Beta so far, should atleast try it.

Is it me or do the blue marines look like Dark Samus?

After playing it...it's alright. The character designs really bug me though, I'm not sure if I should be playing Halo or Crysis.

The way the spawn dunked me into the map blew me away at first, it's a cool way to go in, but I do think the overall game besides that is a tad uninspired. I'll still play it a couple more times though. Who else has the Beta?

I do. But I think I'm reading you wrong, are you saying the spawn in system is cool but the game is uninpsired, or that, after a few plays, the spawn in system is uninspired? I read the latter, and if that's the case, I strongly disagree.

Between the spawn in system and the load-out system, it's going to be very hard to create unbalanced maps for this game. Obviously you could, but it'd almost have to be a deliberate attempt. That alone is pretty cool in my books.

Now if you were saying the gameplay itself seems uninspired, I'd tend to agree. I think they did themselves no favors by releasing this beta without any sort of voice communication within the game. I've played a few games where the team and I started to work as a team more by coincidence than planning, and noted that I enjoyed it a lot more (so much so that I've started using an engineer-demolition based loadout), so I think the lack of voice here isn't going to let the game shine like I think it could.

Nasty ping times though.
I could see why you would read that wrong, I'll change it up. The spawn mechanic is awesome and I love the tactical merits of it, but I think that's the only stand out part of the game, as I think the rest of it is generally uninspired. The suits do bug me, quite a lot actually mainly because of the size of the place and the similarity of them. But I love squad combat in general so I liked this aspect along with the missions, despite that they seem like a bit of a clusterfuck.

I saw the option to enable voice, did it not work? I thought it did. What are you playing the beta on, PC?

Just played the Xbox 360 demo of it, not impressed with it at the moment, the orbital drop thing is cool but the rest isn't, the guns are extremely unbalanced to the point were a direct hit with a rocket launcher will do less damage then a machine gun.
