I haven't seen it yet, as I have no one to go with. My boyfriend has no interest, as he didn't like the games much (crazy, but true). Sadly, I don't really have any other friends in the area either. OH WELLS.
Do you not go to movies on your own? =/
Hrmm...not really no...not since early college anyway, when I still had a car and lots of free time on weekends. If the reviews were better I probably would for this one though.
I noticed alot of people are saying things like "I went to hang out with my firends, (but it sucked/and it was awesome)".

I never knew people went to the movies to spend time with other people. Don't get me wrong, I go to the movies with friends too, I just don't see a problem with going on your own.

I don't understand how someone can "spend time" with someone in a movie theatre.

Unless, *Gasp* you're a movie talker!!!

LOL no actually...Movies completely absorb me and lock me in. I -much- prefer to go with other people because it makes the whole experience a shared one...you travel together, experience the movie together and then talk about it and relive it for a while and keep up that exciting energy longer. When you see it by yourself, you can still talk about it with other people, but it's not quite as fun.

Prince of Persia Opening Weekend Stumbles

Despite the marketing budget of Disney and the well-oiled pecs of Jake "Manlychest" Gyllenhaal, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time wasn't as much of a success on its opening weekend as some might have hoped.

$38 million is a lot of money. It's more money than most of us will see in our entire lives combined. If you asked anybody here whether they wanted a cool $38 million, they'd probably agree in a heartbeat and live comfortably for quite a while. And yet, to some, $38 million is a disappointment - especially when you've spent hundreds of millions of dollars making and promoting a summer blockbuster film.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time may well have fallen into that "disappointment" category, raking in $37.8 million dollars in the US domestic box office over its opening weekend. This isn't a bad take, mind you, but it was far below the $55.7 million grossed by Shrek Forever After over the same weekend - and it's way beneath the Pirates of the Caribbean-level numbers that Disney had likely been crossing its fingers for, given that the firm reportedly spent $200 million producing the flick.

Given that the film was supposed to be one of the early "big hits" of the year, this lukewarm performance has to come as an unpleasant surprise to Jerry Bruckheimer and his backers at Disney. It also probably throws a big uncertain wrench into any plans for potential sequels [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/100554-Jake-Gyllenhaal-Doesnt-Mind-Being-the-Prince-of-Persia].

This is a shame, really - I caught it with a friend on Sunday, and while not the best movie ever made, it was thoroughly entertaining. It was a great popcorn blockbuster flick that was much better than others I could name (that start with "T" and end with "ransformers").

That said, the news isn't all bad for Persia, which managed a much-more-respectable $61 million at the international box office over the same period of time.

Have you seen it yet? What did you guys think?

They made 215 million now which is a 15 million dollar profit, you should update this (wikipedia).

I suppose I see your point. I rarely do anything on my own but not because I choose to pass something up if no one else want's to.

I generally just have people want to do the same things as me.

I've enjoyed movies on my own before and just thought it was strange how many people were passing up a potentially awesome time because they would be alone.

I suppose their logic is pass up a potentially awesome time for a potentially even more awesome time later on when their friends are free.

i saw it with my gf on saturday, i loved it, the parkour in its very pure form is always a major plus for me and added to the fact of i loved the game leads this movie turned out very close to perfect for me, but not enough dagger work and no sand zombies are my only complaints. i really hope to see a sequel in the works

I saw it and I absolutely loved it. I'm taking my sister to see it this week actually, and I am definitely looking forward to it. I'm planning to buy it once it's out on video as well.
